RE: In Vote Natio Octavarium - NO- - Enkidu - 08-03-2018 I'd love to see NO fight for the system. A-la, most systems. Once they're more established, of course. We don't have the numbers in-RP to even attempt a full-scale hostile takeover. Crayter is certainly one of the lesser powers compared to the Houses, but they're still more established than NO. Also they haven't done anything to provoke actual hostility. But, eh, the attempt had to be made. I've got other ideas for getting further established, of course - Tau-37's pretty nice this time of the decade - but lore-wise those are two somewhat run-down stations because of past invasions. Hell, Minato's model still has several broken bits. Like I said. We had to try. RE: In Vote Natio Octavarium - NO- - Kazinsal - 08-03-2018 As far as I know, no one in the history of Discovery has ever attempted to actually outright purchase a solar system in-RP from another faction. We're big on breaking the norm. We have, in lore, about 30,000 people total. Crayter officially has five million, if I'm remembering infocard hunting correctly. Could we, theoretically, win the fight? Maybe. Depends on if we can pull in support. But then there's our own losses to account for. If Crayter loses a thousand people, that's unfortunate for them. If we lose a thousand people, that's a pretty significant chunk of our population. If Crayter loses a cruiser, that's kind of an issue. If we lose a cruiser, we don't have any others. (and that one's only half-functional, due in-RP to an overload and out-of-RP to me justifying the current lack of our old SRP for it) Subjective, sure. But it's the only conclusion that makes sense to us given the numbers we've established. RE: In Vote Natio Octavarium - NO- - Lanakov - 08-04-2018 Isabelle Montlaville de Chanteloup observes with UTMOST interest. This is groundbreaking stuff, I love it. Non-vanilla factions do seem to enjoy more leeway in what they can and cannot do ; this is an excellent example of this creative freedom being put to superb use. Do carry on. We'll keep watching. |
