Apollo class Liberty heavy carrier - Irra - 07-26-2009 ... if we could just dock it one day ... but it looks ... no comment ... agh ... i want it ... Apollo class Liberty heavy carrier - max_was_ere@hotmail.com - 08-02-2009 Can We haz special hitbox so we cans dock in it. I love it, It looks like a new generation something Liberty has been working towards achieving. I have actually set out to making the money to buy this ship. Apollo class Liberty heavy carrier - joshua_cox - 08-02-2009 Whilst I have to say I think your modeling skills are l33t, presonally, I don't like it all that much. The fore looks exactly the same as a Battleship, as does the stern. I like the Osiris-style square thingies (I seriously have no ID what they're called) on the top, but that's it. I'm assuming the open space with the landing-stlye yellow stripes is the hangar, so I have to just say, in RP, that it isn't exactly the best design- it's like just blowing off half of the hull-plating to let your enemies shoot in. Fighters coming on, going in, or simply having landed could easily get obliderated. OORP, I don't really mind all that much about it, because I don't even know if we can dock with carriers anyway! Personally, I like our current Carrier model better. It's a good model, granted, but I like the current one better. Reminds me of the Galactica. Apollo class Liberty heavy carrier - Xing - 08-02-2009 I wouldn't call 12 attempts at a model something half arssed, thank you. Apollo class Liberty heavy carrier - Shagohad - 08-02-2009 I think it looks great. Much better than the bulky trimaran you are currently flying. I don't know where you got that! Unless you mean the 'l33t' I put in, in which case I assure you a meant 'Elite'. Apollo class Liberty heavy carrier - SevereTrinity - 08-03-2009 'Meh' The texture looks horrible. It also doesn't have the 'heavy feel' of the carrier. And I'm just not feeling the model. For once, I agree with Eppy, keep the old model, remodel it's engine, and texture it better without making a 4 MB unique texture. I'd try using the vanilla textures. Apollo class Liberty heavy carrier - Cosmos - 08-03-2009 its too light for my liking. it just looks like a liberty dread mk2 its not Big which imo a carrier should be, the other carrier we have now is what i think suits the role of a carrier, its big which means it can store many ships. unlike this mk2 dread which would in theory store 1/3 of the amount big betty could. Apollo class Liberty heavy carrier - Dejavu - 08-03-2009 I think it looks awsome! It makes me want to own one! Now it actually looks like it could launch fighter and bomber support. Nice work! To the first point about certain parts looking similar or identical to the battleship. This -is- a Liberty Carrier, of course it would have similar structure design to the Battleship, namely the Axe-Head and the Engine. To the second point about the open-ended docking port... You ever watch Star Wars, or play Battlefront? You can't shoot into the hangars there due to a shield-like "screen" covering the otherwise entirely open hangar. Remember, Freelancer is set in the age of shields. Not present-day "Point-Click-Hit" styled shooting where as long as you hit -Something-, you can do damage. As for the "square thingies" infront of the bridge, i'd compare them best to... Arches, nothing special, mainly an aesthetic feature to me. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All that aside, the current model doesnt exactly scream Liberty as a tri-hulled black-box. As for the choice to remodel a specific ship....As far as I'm concerned that decision lies with the designer of the ship. So I don't see why everyones trying to act like they have any control whatsoever over what someone chose to do. |
