One thing jumps to mind, Tony (BULLDOGNK) had this signature with an asian woman in a schoolgirls uniform with the panties visible, this wasn't a problem untill an actual English bulldog with his tongue hanging out was moved in 'close proximity to said panties and genitals'. I believe it was asked to be removed, and so it was.

Just something that might help with, something?

Edit : Pardon the spelling. Been awake for ...Well, a long time and counting.

Mike had signatures like the one he does now when he first started playing, and he started when he was a sprightly young thirteen, I believe...

Seriously, gaiz, post whatever you want. Stories is Stories, and anything else truly blatant has a tendency to get covered in Dust and Lenses (some of it unnecessarily, I think). Pawns of the system, all of you.

Also, that signature was funny, I remember that...ah, it's at times like this I actually start to miss Tony.

Pretty much. If not worse. I'll try to find some of my old ones.

Seriously, go through my folder and you'll find all sorts of nudity. Like Eppy said, I mostly made those around age 13 (?)-14.

No, not trying to show off crappy photoshop work, but trying to make a point and I think Morgan is too. Point being that age doesn't matter in general, 90% of the stuff gets picked up regardless of server regulations. Cursing in group amongst friends, going out, school activities or simply watching TV. You name it. Sure, the younger they are the quicker they pick stuff up, but I don't think that more regulations or any form of compensation or whatever is going to work for that.

Oh god, I remember that DeJesus sig:laugh:I always did like that booty. Never did look very Asian, though, but the blood-spatter border was inventive at the time.

Yup.

As for the stories, I don't think "Cotton headed ninny-muggin" makes as much of a point as accusing somebody's parents of never being married.

A. If they're at least twelve, more than likely they're one of the helium-fueled voices raging on XBox live.
B. If they're kids and... Dudes (just saying it since its a majority). Well, as Chris Rock says, "Ladies, your man is sicker than you could ever imagine. They been lookin' at porno since they was twelve years old!"

Where the real problem lies is if a parent and a kid browse the same forum. More than likely, a kid wont gripe to his parents about something that he saw that he 'shouldn't' have; but if a parent sees it, he'll roflrage all over this place complaining that "He wouldn't want his child to see such vulgarity!"

Bad things ensue.

-Edit- Thats how I see it, at least.

As an Admin, my job is to enforce server & forum rules. I'm not here to protect the ears or the eyes of members, or enforce some type of 'popular mass morality' That's simply not my job. & I couldn't care less about what someone does or says when elsewhere on the net...but when playing & posting here, people need to hold themselves up to the standards set by the rules we have in place in order to make our community accessible & enjoyable to as wide a range of people as possible.

Personally, I've got an extremely dirty mouth & mind, and my sense of humor at times can be so dark that no light can escape it...yet I do my best to censor myself while here, & if even I can do it, then anyone can.

I think we're good as is. Most 'children' will act within the guidelines of their own moral compass and cultural education. It is our responsibility to not force anyone to see what they do not want to see, be it by literally making them or by removing the ability to avoid what they find distasteful. It is NOT our responsibility to limit ourselves and others to the point that our creative and expressive selves suffer undue censorship. Hiding things behind disclaimers and links is more than adequate. As for signatures, I have not once seen one, or an avatar, that I found distasteful. I have seen some that are risky, but can be swiftly categorized as cartoonish enough and rare enough that they do not pose a threat to anyone's moral fiber. More importantly, most of the subject matter involving females (notice no one is concerned with shirtless men or anything...) is done in a tasteful and artistic manner. At the end of the day, the choice to view is still in the hands of the potentially offended, so we are in the clear.

For Mjonir: Your points are as valid as any other, though I will say there need not be utility in all things. Art and expression are a cornerstone of this community. I find Exile's signature images to be creative, tasteful, and aesthetically pleasing.

And with that, I am quite satisfied with my contribution here. Thanks for keeping it mostly non-flaming.

Edit: Word of the day - roflrage - Thanks Magoo!

You know, I just asked myself ; Why is it so bad that a 12 year old watches porn, or learns a few curse words? Hell, I know I started with porn at age 11 and I curse quite alot on Skype. As for violence, well, I can be abit agressive at times but it's not like I pickup a sword and start murdering hordes and hordes of people or animals because I saw this alien kill a dude in a game. So to speak.

Like stated before, it's the parents responsibility. Mine simply trusted me and I came out right. Why can't others?

I never really got the fuss what was about the swearing and etc. Threats may be a problem , yes, but i really cant see swearing as a problem. My game came with a "+16" stamp on so i always though of it as mature, and , even if everyone elses seems to be T rated , i still cant see the problem... Everyone who plays this game and Disco has (or should have) at least a certain degree of maturity. Such restrictions can sometimes kill off some of the imersion when you are playing. Sometimes i speak diferently than how i think my characters would , but meh. Its kinda like that achievements thing i saw a while back and how they break imersion.

For some degree i agree with AJBeast about swearing, i don't know about the people in other countries but from where i came people swears a lot in daily life, its just common.

BUT i've also seen where swearing goes in games.
Some immature kids flaming all around in every chat and forum.
I've seen it from a moderator's view for a time and i can tell you it is not acceptable.
Don't take it wrong i have nothing against kids if they can behave.
It's just i'm here to roleplay, not to watch neverending flame.

So in my oppinion the rule should stay as it is now, i dont want to see what i saw in games which had no regulations for swearing.
Use your creativity, you don't have to use swearing to make a point.

As for the pictures, a bit sexy ones are ok from my view, but to turn discoverygc into a pornsite well thats another story.

Edit: "KIDS! LAY OFF THE HELIUM! IT'S BAD FOR YOUUU!" epic!
