I guess Zapp is the one who has to answer that. Personally I'd like to see more of the Organic stuff, but that's just me. I also think more asymmetry would do the hull good, those extra reinforcements at the front of the ship look like they've been ripped off other Seige Crusiers, so maybe the rear side of them where they have been broken off could look less symmetrical?

To me the Scorpion-esque swirls at the front look too thin and insubstantial to be supporting a siege cannon. I'd like to see them beefed up a bit or thickened or something, so it's more like a cage to protect the gun's workings and stabilize the projectile than decoration just to fill space.

Two things I'd personaly like to know.

1; Why is the Nomad Green?
2; How do you connect the Tundra to the Wilde? Wilde are Rheinlanders, Tundra is Libertonian. He might visit them occasionaly, but that's about it. Would make more sence to me if the plating was more beaten-up Libertyish than Wilde.

As an Ex-Keeper I don't like the scorpion swirl. Never have.

I also can't speak for Zapp, but I can state my likes and dislikes about it from a nomad pov.
I like the skin, however it does need to be blue/purpley/grey.
Tentacles would be a big bulker and like it's stretching to grab you.
I imagine that it would have more "skin" bursting out of the back too.
Think of an octopus squished into a 1.5L coke bottle and you'd have it about right.
The difference is the octopus grew up inside the coke bottle and as part of the bottle.

Nice work jinx. I love the look of the nomad tentacles on that thing!

Actually, as an ex-Keeper myself, I've got to agree with Mr. Soong. I simply don't like the swirly thing.

The scorpion is an import, that's why, and I personally think it's ugly. I mean sure, it's supposed to look scary, but it does not resemble the characteristics of a nomad in any way. And replicating that on this rheinlandish-siege cruiser isn't the best approach.

the tundra - reavengitair - 07-28-2009

Well even if it is an import, I do love the look of that ship.

I can't imagine flying it, and of course, its... not really that nomad related,

But it still looks excellent, and it is quite scary.

the tundra - mwerte - 07-28-2009

where is it an import from? I haven't been able to track it (or the creator) down anywhere else.

I honestly think I like the first one better...

As to why you can't apply the original Nomad skins, I think I have half an answer (I got suckered into doing the Nomad Cruiser replacement and have since been reading up). Nomad ships are done in .3db - and as such there's a completely different process to making them that nobody but Treewyrm understands (because he's that awesome). I mean, if you look at the models in HardCMP you can see that there are actually three models in the Nomad BS - the blue outer skin, which shows up as transleucent in-game, an internal structure that's skinned green that, I suspect, corresponds to the engine effect, and an actual ship skeleton, in grey. I don't know how da heck it works, but it makes sense to Yuri.

EDIT: Also, mwerte, I have it on authority that the Scorpion is an import from Babylon 5.
