Should we get Diffrent types of civillian guns? - farmerman - 08-08-2009
Another idea I had for a RP background is this: when the LN, etc was looking for new prototypes, they had a variety of corporations make a variety of different models. Obviously, in the LN's case, they only chose the Magma Hammer and Vengeance line. The alternatives may have been just as effective, overall, but ineffective against the shield types of their usual threats. So the corps remarket them on the civilian market.
Alternately, perhaps Bretonia has captured a variety of photon guns from the war with Kusari. So they give them to various corporations to remake and sell, both to raise money via weapon taxes as well as giving them an opportunity to better understand the technology and pass it along to the BAF for use in battle. The same could be for various houses and weapon combinations.

well even with current dps 200 damage per shot is not very far from 230... just a 10% diffrence, similar to say spliter to krakens... yet spliters are hailed as great weapons.... so no problem is it?

I have voted for Plasma, and no buff, reason,
currently there are flashpoints and Deblitators, both are good weapons, i had an 7 Flashpoint eagle once, they arent that bad, and there are the Furys, Zoner proton weapons and the Vampire, IMG Tacyon weapon, somehow i count them as civillian too, and cooperations even could buy Reavers and Buckshots from the Guild.
Some Coorp. Escorts use the relevant houseguns, but baseically your back to Flashpoints and debbies, when you want to fell propper.
Thats a bit boring, blue and yellow....a nice Plasmagun somewere between the Maghammer and the Drake would be awsome, there arent many plasmaguns around, and a slow fireing maybe red fireing gun would give the civi arsenal something. More color at least.

Even though BHG guns ARE green, Athenian has the habit of being very possesive of them.Vampires are awesome weapons, but they are white. ANd Debbies dont need a boost, I mean, they PWN, My only issue is with the flashpoints. A buff on them isnt even that necesary, if new types with damge levels worth using were implemented.
