Zoner whales. - Dab - 10-05-2009 ' Wrote:Zoners have never docked on House stations. Even with 2395 billion people on all their bases. Never done. Ever.As per infocards(vanilla ones), the Zoners of Freeport 2 in Bering occasionally send freighters to Planet Hamburg for critical supplies. Freighters, though. Freighters. Not big giant blobs filled to the brim with Cardamine. This is why the non-Guard ID still allows it. 3,800 cargo is plenty to pick up the very few necessary items the Freeports can't make. ' Wrote:I just lost my Roleplay.Read the above message. ' Wrote:I'm going to come clear here:You may want to talk to your faction leader then. This was discussed months back, and I remember discussing the entire matter with Lou personally, and he admitted it would have issues, but that they'd work around them. It was understood that something like this was necessary, and us 'bonafide' Zoners will have to make some sacrifices in order to fix it. But really that doesn't hurt us when compared to everyone else. Making a few sacrifices so that our faction on a whole is improved isn't too much to ask for. Zoner whales. - Dab - 10-05-2009 ' Wrote:So that was my Zoners Roleplay. There is an Outcast who is blowing up Cardamine Transports, yet we dont have a "You don't shoot at Cardamine" in the Outcast ID.Yes, but other Outcasts can then blow that Outcast up and cast him out when he does that. The Zoners can't do this. Also, that's not exactly an even comparison. An OC blowing up Cardamine Transports is a completely different scenario to the one that caused the problems for the Zoners. ' Wrote:If the Update had made only Zoner Guard restrictions, or only a nerfing in Zoner to Zoner trade routes, or only the elimination of the Niobium field in 49 (and the expansion of Gold minefield in Dublin) I wouldn't have complained.Just a note; The Niobium field was nerfed a long long time ago. ' Wrote:Unfortunately, the Zoner player base needed that cut. Now the Zoners might be the hardcore roleplayers that play them like they should, instead of a bunch of sadly ignorant people treating them as the most powerful corporation in Sirius.Truth, he has it. EDIT: Automerge fail? Zoner whales. - Cannon - 10-05-2009 The reason for the zoner guard change is: The zoner guard and the zoner whale were used mostly by power traders who did no role play at all and ended up causing trouble for the people who wanted to role play zoners. A significant majority (but not everybody) of the zoner council support this decision. Alternative options: - reduce the zoner whale cargo to say 3800. - prohibit zoner guards from entering house space at all. As Blunt says, zoners in canon Freelancer don't spend much time in house space - they left house space to get away from it. Regular zoners might spend some time in house space but zoner guards (the hardcore zoners) don't. Zoner whales. - DAnvilFan - 10-05-2009 Dab: I bet Lou did not also expect for the minefields to move around the way they did and for the Freeport to Freeport trading to become reduced. Last I checked he was very upset. I don't know what you guys discussed in the past but you know that Lou has been a damn good Zoner player with powertrading being the last thing on his mind. Yet he's pissed. When you unload such an amount of changes on a group of people all at once, folks get offended. EDIT: As I understand it, the Niobium field is gone, no? *goes to check the system again* Zoner whales. - Dab - 10-05-2009 ' Wrote:Dab: I bet Lou did not also except for the minefields to move around the way they did and for the Freeport to Freeport trading to become reduced. Yet he's pissed. The only Freeport-to-Freeport route that was downgraded was the Organ/Deut route, because it was better than even corporate routes, while offering nearly no risk at all and able to be done with minimal control. (The Go-to button and dock button, that's all you had to do.) The Minefield doesn't even matter, honestly... Not even gravity has a hold on the free peoples of the Zoners, who shall mostly ne'er set foot on soil, living out their days in the peaceful expanses of the void! Zoner whales. - kikatsu - 10-05-2009 As long as the ID itself does not restrict flying INTO house space I'm fine I'm perfectly fine with the restrictions...but that's probably because I have a gunboat and only ferry small cargo loads with it Zoner whales. - Colonel.Tigh - 10-05-2009 You Zoners cry about loosing some Bases to land?? *laugh* Pirate/Quasilawful Smugglers loose their entire ships, and have to buy >3800 ones to bring home that artifacts and blooddiamands and stuff. Ok the Junkers were nerfed first, now the rest is getting it (ouh, you forgott the Corsairs...), its somehow fair, but i dont like it at all. Zoner whales. - Magoo! - 10-06-2009 Quote:Pirate/Quasilawful Smugglers loose their entire ships, and have to buy >3800 ones to bring home that artifacts and blooddiamands and stuff.Oh... No. Less than 3800 (Presumably it was a </> error)? Funny story: I've been flying one for the last six (?) months and have made enough money to buy a Shire (100+), a Dessie (175), a Pilgrim (200), a Yacht (100), and about a half dozen smallish type things ( i.e. Freighters/fighters) and still have 70+ mill floating about ready for my whims to take it to market. *grumble* These lot make traders look bad. -Edit- Sorry, don't mean to sound brash, but once you've been around the block like I have, you'll realize that the credit isn't as powerful as you once perceived. |
