Brotherhood Bar-Talks - Gamazson - 09-18-2007 Seth Driskill made a point of not entering the bars on Crete. It was no secret that he sold heads to both sides. The Outcasts were civilized enough not shoot you for business choices. Corsairs well, anything could tick these guys off. Not keeping your end of a bargain was one of them. Walking causally into the bar Seth places the large heavy create on the counter. "Here barkeep, 100 pounds of grade A Texan beef. Curtousy of the SU and at the request of the Benitez boys." The many eyes of the people sitting by the bar where burning into the back of Seth's head worse then lasers. He felt the need to explain himself. "Made a promise that the next time I came down here with heads to sell for the mines I would bring some extra food along with. There was a specific request for some steak." Seth slaps his hand on the lid. "It ain't much but affter filling the ship full of food for the stock, I just didn't have the space for a large quantity" In an attempt to hide how uncomfortable he was Seth sat down and ordered himself a drink. It would be a few minutes before the Mistress was ready to launch anyway. Brotherhood Bar-Talks - majkp - 09-18-2007 Pedro Maniaco was observing the whole conflict from his table at the corner. So hot-headed the corsair men are. Bar-fights in the Boozer's Lounge were on every-day's schedule. One would understand it among the youngest ones, but if a corsair faction leader attacked another Elder it always had immense consequences. And this time it again endangered the alliance with SCRA he was working on for a long time. Pedro was tired. Tired of trying to keep the corsairs organized and focused on the real threat. But now it seemed like ploughing the sand. He stood up, and first addressed the trader who was brave or stupid enough to come right into the squabble: "Mr. Trader, why don't you talk to the commodity dealer after you finish your drink? I am sure the price he suggests will satisfy you expectations." Then he turned to Ares and the rest of the brothers: "Just before you all get totally drunk, remember this. I will never give up trying to keep Corsairs united. The REAL enemy is outside and they wait for every opportunity to attack. If we show them our weaknesses we loose. Mark my words!". Then he told Ares: "I understand that your status with OPG is probably KoS, and I can't do anything about that, I just can ask you if your mutual 'discussions' could take place outside Gamma. And I'll wait for the day when you both realise that fighting against each other is useless and you come to some cease-fire agreement. The Brotherhood stays out of this." And Pedro Maniaco walked away, checking the status of the toilet before leaving the bar. Brotherhood Bar-Talks - McNeo - 09-18-2007 Montoya scratched his head and cocked it to one side, as he watched Maniaco walk out of the bar. He quickly vacated, and followed Pedro, trying to explain it all. "But, I saw him slap Ares around the face, I knew he wouldn't stand for that. You must understand wh...." 'You forget, Juan, I saw it all.' "But then you underst...." 'Be quiet. I don't care for your reasoning Juan, not after all this we have suffered at the hands of the Outcasts and their petty allies.' "But you kn...." 'But this, but that! You're never in the air because of all this crap happening to your family, and your life. You should set a better example than this. But you are not, you are acting like a child. You and your *life* sicken me!' Juan raised his hand to stop Pedro as he continued to walk, but it stopped and hung at chest height. Juan's eyes followed Pedro's figure, until it disappeared into the darkness. His head hung low, he returned to the bar, and sat quietly, tapping his glass, a cloud over his head. No one even seemed to notice. He had never seen Pedro that angry before. Ever. It meant so much to him...and it is true. Young Corsairs...he was acting as if he were one, not the shining beacon of light his rhetoric in the Brotherhood database detailed an Elder should act. A shadow over his eyes, he continued to observe the events in the bar, albeit with little interest. Brotherhood Bar-Talks - Gentle - 09-18-2007 Gentle prepared himself mentally before entering the bar again. The scene he last vacated was to say the least far from pretty. Gentle's explosive temperament had found him pushed to the edge of corsair high society which on its own bothered him little as he considered his acts in space significant enough to earn credit where it should be due. A tortured upbringing had taught gentle that many of the hardest and greatest lessons came from the biggest mistakes. Gentle entered the bar and presented his sidearms to the barman. Stripping off his clothes to his waist and dropping the always present thermal explosives pack he approaches a group of corsairs. Feeling eyes bore into his back and face gentle drew a knife across his chest and stomach. "Hola Hermanos! See that I bleed. See that I am a man. See that I come to you unarmed and prepared to accept my future among you. Understand I am of your blood amigos and that my pride and passion will not be quelled like the blood that flows from my skin. The heart that pumps it is true corsair. I return to you from my latest incursion victorious against the outcasts. I come to you with the scalps of NOVAPG as trophys. I return to you humbled by my own temper senors" The room became silent in expectation of gentles words. "Are we not a proud and passionate people?" "Do we not have the right to settle personal disputes blood to blood?" "How many of you have judged me before you have flown with me at your side killing the people who would harm you Amigos?" "Where is Ares? I would speak with him." Gentle allowed the knife to slip from his hand and the oozing blood from the gaping wound in his chest began to congeal and dry leaving a scar that would remind him of this day. Would Ares accept him this day as a corsair brother he wondered. Would Ares have enough about him to set aside personal differences for the good of corsairs. Gentle stood and awaited his recent adversary and relished one of the rare opportunties he got to forgive and be forgiven. Brotherhood Bar-Talks - bluntpencil2001 - 09-18-2007 Ares leans back on his chair, "So, an apology is it?" He smiles, "Fair enough, but Captain Zehn might not be too happy. You had best apologise to him, too. He is much less forgiving than I am, hermano. Remember that we deserve respect, and himself in particular. You'll have to swallow a lot of pride for that confrontation. I believe he wanted 'grovelling'..." He motions to the barman to fetch another beer for Gentle. "So, like I said, I'd suggest you beg Captain Zehn and my comrades for forgiveness too, seeing as if you hit one of us, you hit us all... You had best apologise to everyone else here for threatening to blow them up, too. We Corsairs don't like such threats." Brotherhood Bar-Talks - Gentle - 09-18-2007 "Ah Ares...... Dont misunderstand me again. There is no apology without acceptance of your own need to apologise amigo" "Are you man enough to accept your own doing in this?" "No amigo I will not grovel for anyone I have left my message for your Captain" "I come here today to regain honour for us both. Will you not regain your own and appologise for your comments about us? If so I will gladly rink beer with you amigo and with your captain." Brotherhood Bar-Talks - Axe - 09-19-2007 "Well, since you're all here..." A small, slim man stood in the doorway to the bar. His Coalition pilot uniform highlighting his thin stature. Zehn looked unimpressive, but the Corsairs knew different. When the bar had gone quiet, he strode in. This was his first time in this bar. It was the regular haunt of the Brotherhood, and for that reason he had never strayed into it. The bar smelt like sweat and drink. Zehn stood in the center of the bar and spoke loudly, "Since you're all here, I may aswell make this announcement publicly. The act of war by the Coalition towards the Omega Pirates has been dropped. Admiral Britanov has issued an order for all SCRA pilots not to engage OPG ships, regardless of orders from myself, Captain Zehn." Zehn began to frown intently. "I am, however, to issue a threat to all those who think the Coalition doesn't belong here. We have defended Crete, with you Corsairs, for a long time. Albeit for a different purpose. You all know that the Corsairs would be in a much more difficult situation if my men were not stationed here. We deserve EVERY ounce of respect you can throw at us! This war may have been called off, but disrespect deserves punishment!" Zehn's eyes flared, and a smile broadened across his face, "Now, the threat. I'm going to go and sit in my ship in orbit. All those that feel incapable of giving us the respect that we deserve, or feel that we do not belong here, can see me in space if you have the 'cojones'! This is a free ticket to put your ass where your mouth is!... But do not come if you think this will be a normal training excersize. As soon as the first shot is fired, I will be aiming for your cockpit. I WILL kill you!" With a smile still stretching across his face, Zehn left the bar in utter silence. Brotherhood Bar-Talks - bluntpencil2001 - 09-19-2007 Ares exhales sharply, furious that Britanov ordered himself and the others not to shoot these scumbags. He stands, knocking over a beer bottle in Gentle's direction, soaking his crotch, and salutes Dieter Zehn with obviously sincere respect. This is strange to the Corsairs in the bar, Ares never defers to anyone. "Orders understood, Captain. Will not engage those sorry excuses for pilots as per Britanov's orders...." Ares stops for a moment then gives an evil grin in Gentle's direction, "...Should I join you in orbit though?" He straightens his uniform and signals to Catrina, "Enyo, Catalina, mi hermana, care for a flight, like old times?" He smiles at his sister, but his face darkens rapidly, like an oncoming storm. "Gentle, do not make the mistake of considering the Omega Pirate Guild the equals of the Coalition. We are better than you in every single way. You would be wise to drill that thought into your skull before the Captain does so in orbit..." Ares leaves and heads to ready his Titan... Brotherhood Bar-Talks - Unseelie - 09-19-2007 Catalina looks up, grins, then looks at Alice, pats her on the back..."You'll be fine here, the elders are good men" "Sure hermano, see you in space." With that, Catalina sauntered out of the bar. Brotherhood Bar-Talks - Unit-sk855 - 09-19-2007 Alice sank down into her chair so as not to be seen. The only understanding so far of this mess is that its caused a flexing of muscle between the people she flys with, and the coalition that also protects the area. "Fools...." She mutters to herself quietly. So many bigger issues, but fighting amoungst themselves continues. Just like what she has always known. However, her years of command, her blood stained hands, and her time flying the Wishful Thinking, all could not stop a young girls emotions. A tear fell onto the table. "I didnt want this..." Then another. "I would rather have died..." Two more. "This is not why I came here..." She stood up, and walked slowly to the door while looking at the ground. She may be better off turning herself in and pretending. Then again, she may be better off alone. She needed some time to think, so she decided to go and float in space for a bit. |
