Battle for Yanagi - Snoozzzer - 06-22-2010 /\ I agree with hawk, the junkers aren't PVP . . at all, despite my shenanigans in the taus / kusari. If the black dragons wish to roll into the sigmas with their imperator, claymores, rabas, mamarous, black dragons, and expect the junkers not to start calling in the favors with the mandalorians, blood dragons, GC, and outcasts well . . . may as well not have the event, at all. Just powergame on the forums and say "Yanagi was overrun" The junkers cut deals, and pay others to engage in violence. Ain't much profit in doing it ourselves typically oh and . . somewhere in my post, should've agreed with tenacity and rudo about junker ships and guns being . . crap. Other than the pilgrim . . of course ^.^ Battle for Yanagi - Pinko - 06-22-2010 It's a Junker vs Hogosha event. Because there isn't enough Junker/Hogosha relationships. Also, if you would've read, we scrapped the whole ''Play for the keeps'' concept. Battle for Yanagi - ProwlerPC - 06-22-2010 Wow I only just noticed this. I am ok, I guess with saying; let them have their fun. I am curious, however, on how Hogs would get enough ships that's strong enough to take out a station past GMG eyes in their own space but they are scanner dampening clouds so small ships trickling into a rendezvous point is feasible. Also, the existence and location of Yanagi depot is known. I't just barely clinging on to survivability as it is. The NPC GMG are considering bombing it if it continues to be a source of unlawful activity. I guarantee that, in RP, Yanagi depot wouldn't last till the end of the day if Hogosha succeeded in taking it. Also I'd like to point out that Hogs taking over Yanagi wouldn't increase Kusari control over GMG. For that matter Kusari currently has no control on GMG whatsoever. If the Emporer and his fleet can't make GMG budge how will the smaller less powerful Hogs do it? Yes I am all fine and happy to see action between Hogs and Junkers, but RPng out territory grabs in GMG space for territory that is not only known by GMG but is also already in danger of being swept away might not be the best approach. Besides I thought it was the other way around, Junkers want in Kusari and Hogs are preventing it. Edit add: Also reading on Hawks post he is right. These Junkers have always relied on others protecting Yanagi. GMG happens to inadvertantly be one of them. Not that we are proud of the fact but the Junkers play on GMG's need to have that field cleaned up so we can put in GMG developments there. So by keeping their noses relatively clean and making a show of helping ALG they manage to get away with having that Depot smack in our space without us bombing it to pieces, so far...and with the open border and agreement between GMG and Rhienland that field now also has RM on top of GMG protecting it. You see, it's the site, that the depot happens to be in that is significant. It's a lawful industrial clean-up zone under protection and the Junkers managed to be coy enough to get in that sphere of protection...barely. As I mentioned above, you may want to consider something a bit different for the RP hook. Not too different, can be hits on the salvage operation sure but a territory war isn't feasible as it's not even Junker controlled territory, they are there at ALG's request and remain only by GMG's limited tolerance......hey that does make me think of something......set them up to look bad in front of GMG. A Junker/Hog storyline series of events can accomplish that. Just a thought... Battle for Yanagi - Hawk - 06-22-2010 Ok, as it is looking now I think we can work with this. I still wish I had known a little about this before it was posted. A lot of heated discussion can be avoided if leadership from both factions are on the same page before things like this are published. Battle for Yanagi - Pinko - 06-22-2010 It was a suggestion, not something forced onto anyone. We wanted to know everyone's opinion about the matter, and we got what we wanted. Battle for Yanagi - Rudo - 06-22-2010 No worries. It's also kind of like performing an experiment in a vacuum, though. The thing with Yanagi is that due to its location and value to a significant number of factions, any single faction's attempts upon it would result in other forces pushing them out. Trust me, I was around in the 4.84 days, I got to see this happen in person day after day. Lunchboxes would arrive one day and try to push junkers out while docking on Yanagi. This would be responded to with Taiidan/Redcat spam. Next day it was Falcatas and Pancakes. That would be removed by lunchboxes and corsair bombers. Day three would see bounty hunters try to use their core fleet to assault it. That never went well. There were also random incursions by Das Wilde that got pushed back, with heavy losses of Junker personnel. So technically, in RP Yanagi should be extremely fortified in terms of resistance to traditional bombardment tactics at this point. It's seen far worse than any Hogosha can throw at it.:P Battle for Yanagi - sovereign - 06-23-2010 ' Wrote:There were also random incursions by Das Wilde that got pushed back, with heavy losses of Junker personnel. New idea: giant cluster-forced-intercourse around Yanagi, featuring anyone who was in Sigma-13 during 4.84 (hint: this is everyone). But seriously, some dedicated Hogosha vs Junker events would be cool. I think the superiority of the Black Dragon might be adequately compensated by the 4 : 1 outnumbering that usually happens. If one side is doing well, either they can send a few to the bench or the other guys call in some reserves, perhaps. Balance it ad hoc, make it a just for fun event (no serious consequences for whoever loses), and have a great time. Yeeehaw, as my technically-not-enslaved servants say on my rice plantations. - [|]Ishikawa Battle for Yanagi - RockCrystal - 06-24-2010 I'd like in on this. I have a Raba and a CSF, can use either for balancing purposes but I'm more attached to my Raba Sore.Wa.Himitsu.Desu Hektor.Kopff Battle for Yanagi - Lobster - 06-24-2010 Vanila: Both factions used CSVs Use CSVs balance solved Battle for Yanagi - Govedo13 - 07-03-2010 Hello people any progress on it? |
