I love the Orca. I don't know why, because it'll die to just about any other GB out there if they know what they're doing, but it flies great. I hate the model - a speedboat in space!??! - but no other ship has quite the hold over me the Orca does. If we are gonna go best, as in best ships and not what we personally prefer,
I would say:
Best Light Fighter: Loki (Hessian) perhaps Voidrunner (Nomad) but would argue practicality over speed.
Best: Heavy Fighter: Agama (Council), Incredibly Fast, Small size with cylindrical overall-shape is fantastic to save it from all angles of attack, firepower is good.
Best: Very Heavy fighter: Black Dragon (Hogosha), incredibly small, incredibly fast, acceptable firepower and more armor than the Blood Dragon. Some may argue that it can be countered with Shotguns. If you know how to fly even remotely a VHF, its essentially impossible to get Shotgunned in a Black Dragon. Beats the Sabre in group fights, and out-turns it in 1v1's.
Best Bomber: Rheinland Bomber, 4.85 Bombers its all about sizes, Rheinland wins.
Best: Freighter: No idea
Best Transport: Shire (Bretonian) - Firepower and Armor is unchallengeable.
Best Gunboat: Tie between Scorpion (Due to the weapons its allowed to use in combo with its firepower, see: Nomad Turret) and Nomad GB (360 degrees turrets provide deadly BR strikes).
Best Cruiser: KNF Destroyer (Superior small-size compared to other cruisers/destroyers gives this one the strongest kiting ability, which is everything for this ship-class).
Best Battlecruiser: Someone flies these ships willingly?
Best Battleship: Really hard to say.
