Restrictions on capital ship use - Laowai - 02-28-2008

As an independent Cap ship owner, i say leave them as they are and leave players who want to fly them alone.

I'm not in a faction, I Role play my characters, im active on the forum. I am not the only independant who is, and i'm sure im not the only one who will be in the future. Some people play cap ships for different reasons, RP, personal preference.... I have mine actually for both these reasons and another as well : My laptop is really old and chunks up to the point of stupidity when there are a few things on the screen - On this computer its almost impossible for me to shoot at anything when im in one of my fighters, and its just a waste of time top try when i get pounced on by hordes of stupidly over strengthed NPC's. (when i meet a Freelancer NPC i just quit out of the game). None the less... a couple of my characters are in fighters and i enjoy their RP - so while i can't really PVP in them, i still play them.

My point is i have the choice. I can choose my style of RP and i can choose my ship. I think everyone should have this choice.

I agree! Most of the things suggested (save for the Guard system one) prevent people like you from RPing a way they want too.

Players deciding others RP = BAD!

@ Laowai, agreed.
I have a Independent Order Character flying a Zoner Destroyer but I RP all the way and am active in the forums alot.
NPCs are hard to deal with in combat in a fighter in my experience and as well as any others probably.
flying a cruiser make me feel safe but those mindless non-RPing caps out there are getting annoying

Whilst in real-life I agree with the sentiments that one should be able to do as they like if they don't hurt others... this is militaries we are talking about. Chains of command are very important in real life, and RP, militaries.

You start at the bottom, and if you don't like it, don't sign up for the uniform.

Sorry Blunt. Can't agree with this one here.

Some people want to RP as a Captain of a Cruiser, they should be allowed to do that if they choose. If someone wants to RP as a member of a fighter squadron, tehy are allowed to.

It's all roleplay. And their is a limit in which it becomes less like role-play, andmore like 'Roleplay how we want you to, and if your nice, we might let you fly something bigger'

What does the RM do if an independent RM cruiser flies by? Do you salute? Or do you ask where the hell they got clearance to fly it?

Total, complete, utter amen to Adrian.

Restrictions on capital ship use - Qunitinius~Verginix - 02-28-2008

I ask them where they got clearance to fly that, and if they give me a good, worthy in-character response, then I respect them for it and let them role-play as to how they see they should.

If they don't, then they get terminated.

But if they aren't part of the RM, what are they a part of? I mean, I could understand unmarked ships with the permission of [RM] leadership, but they really ought to ask for [RM] leaderships permission first.
