Say NO to turret steering ! - SMGSterlin - 09-27-2011 No, keep it here, for all, it's np. Say NO to turret steering ! - Berny - 09-29-2011 That zoom thing actually makes turret usable. "fights like npc"... isn't that what's the RP all about? Anyways, now turret is unusable on any kind of fighter if it shoots only backwards - rear view doesn't give enough of time to aim and for turret to steer into need place - only usable on slow bombers, where you get a chance of shooting once or twice if lucky with back turrets right after the joust. Note, zoom only works in turret view. Which means player looses part of controls. If he can handle it - it's his advantage. If you can't handle it, I mean if you suck at it - doesn't mean it and anything associated with it has to be removed permanently. Just give it a chance. I mean, traditional FL pvp is - Eagle outturns titan and always wins. Now titan will have a usable turret to defend and will have a small chance. Adapt to this, train on this, make new tactics and get some skills on them. Only few stubborn PVPers, that can't adapt to new tactics will leave. Say NO to turret steering ! - Jack_Henderson - 09-30-2011 Turret Steering changes PvP especially against gunboats a lot! While the GB without it can be eaten rather easily by SNAC-bombers, a well-flown turret steering GB (especially the agile Asco and Ahudouri) are almost impossible to hit with Snac. And the fire of the GB is very accurate to make the approaches (you need to be close now, best: Snac ram) deadly. Turret steering will change the way GBs are fought. I am seriously considering re-equipping my bombers to something that chases the enemy target. =) I will also give GBs another try when sufficient stability is granted by the updates. So... I think it's an interesting change. One that needs more exploration and testing. No gravedigging |
