Lets improve the gameplay between the Hessians and the Corsairs - Vito - 04-01-2012 Yes, it might be our fault and I know what you're referring to. The Sails lost 2 very old members because, again, we did not want to sacrifice RP for blue texts and start using foreign technology. As far as the Sails are concerned we're pirates before anything else and Titans will Salamancas work just fine . When we are faced with superior tech we do what any good pirate would: run for our lives. Of course, the good PvP'ers didn't like that nor the low PvP skills on new members and they left. To be honest I don't know why were having this conversation or what the problem is. I don't have any problems with the Hessian player or technology but nobody can blame me for avoiding to fight battles that are lost from the start. Lets improve the gameplay between the Hessians and the Corsairs - Cond0r - 04-02-2012 Well Vito, with that kind of mentality, no wonder they're lost. :| No one can blame failure on tech alone (Im not just referring to Corsairs here). Instead of trying to focus on all the negative stuff and trying to find excuses in, what are in my opinion, absurd areas, they should just try to find a solution elsewhere. Maybe just a bit more motivation is needed? Just ask Blodo to add you to that group chat:P What motivation must one have to enter a fight that is lost before it begins? I can't force anyone to fight you and I can't blame anyone for not wanting to die in O5 Lets improve the gameplay between the Hessians and the Corsairs - Reacher - 04-02-2012 ' Wrote:It's funny, since I have to say the same things twice, on Skype and here. Just ask Blodo to add you to that group chat:P Vito all I have to say is: Less Cobra Commander and more Leonidas. Edit: At the least Vito sit back and look at The Black Sails activity and number of active members. Then look at TBH and Benitez and just contemplate on the idea that maybe you are doing something wrong. I say that not as a member of the Black Sails or a Corsair, but as a community member who doesn't want to see another Zombie official faction Lets improve the gameplay between the Hessians and the Corsairs - Madvillain - 04-02-2012 ' Wrote:@Sails, TBH, Benitez: Another solution would be to try and recruit/ encourage skilled veteran players into flying Corsair characters and to remedy what issues cause the mass exodus of those players in the first place. Interesting idea Tupac, I have to say that TBH really needs a good combat trainer. So far I have been ''hosting'' most trainings and as you well know I am not exactly an expert. What caused the mass exodus of good PvPers for TBH in the first place? We are a very old faction , most of the people that used to be around eventually left disco because they simply got different interests, or lacked the time to play. We do have a nice group of people now, but we lack someone to educate us on fighting. So yes , if someone is interested in taking up that role it would be great!

Corsairs have really bad PR right now. That is what they need to work on. I mean look at the some of the posts that come from prominent Corsair players. No one wants to fight alongside people with that attitude. I have a thread in my favorites that can show us who was crying even before 4.86 brought us the jorm and nerfed the op-ossie. Where did i put it... oh, here it is. Oh and by the way, in regards to why people left sairs i can remind you of Curi, those who were around him can remember his growing disgust and how he couldn't stop saying that Corsairs are great npc faction but playerbase really ruins it. Lets improve the gameplay between the Hessians and the Corsairs - Laerethe - 04-02-2012 Vito makes an interesting point; I saw a similar situation the other day. Rheinlanders were camping out the New York gate in Texas; a fleet consisting of four battleships, 5/6 cruisers and a couple of gunboats. Liberty had amassed a fleet of 4/5 Noughts/BC/SC, and were waiting to go on through. One LABC goes through and gets instakilled by the cruisers and battleships, without a word, the justification being "This is a time of war." This led to the rest of the Liberty fleet logging off and going elsewhere, because they decided that taking snubs was pointless; viewing the fight, I saw why. 3/4 cruisers ganking lone fighters. They decided there was no point joining lost fights, because it isn't possible to have fun. The same applies here. If given the choice between a pointless, lost fight and some balanced ones elsewhere, I might as well jut switch character and ignore them. That's what happens when I log to find 10 enemy caps miraculously appear in Gamma. Its other people's actions that cause this; whether its a matter of skills or tech is irrelevant. The fact is, it happens, so we should try and improve things for both sides. This means take a balance if it is needed and push fairer fights; its no fun to win every single time, because then there is no element of risk or apprehension. |
