However, I'd only be fine with that if they were as restricted as they logically should be as well. In other words, Maybe a total of eight player-flown caps. Seems reasonable, no? All that happens now is you need to refil your regens and CM, costs less than a million, and the ship/armor etc cost 1.5 bil+, I pay more than that if I'm killed in my bomber when I'm ganked by the navy. Doesn't make sense. If you wanna fly a BS, then you should have to pay a huge fine everytime you die. RE: Bombers VS Capital Ships, Balance Needed - Govedo13 - 10-06-2013 Cap guns divided in 3 classes is the only solution that makes all crowds happy: -the bomber crowd -the noob cap crowd -the pro cap crowd Such classing of the guns can be added later to all ships. So there would be no fights between different type of players because some want more arcade styled game and some want more realistic balanced style game where they can actually loose something by dieing. I think it is unfair to give any side advantage. This does not mean that everything needs to be dull and square middle balanced like now. I bet none would be against single battleship smashing 5 bombers as long as his repair cost after that is 40-50m and if he dies he would loose 400-500m in equipment. It is quite different scenario now- the 3 bombers needed to smash the cap spend more money on novas, regens,cds and ammo then the dead battleship- there is no logic in that, in the same way that there is no logic to be able to do whatever you want with your snub as long as you are 500m away from enemy battleship. If one wants better equipment of any kind- it should be no problem to have it as long as he faces the negative consequences together with the positive consequences. If the Devs have time to ensure that every dull and underpopulated faction can have full line of unused ships and equipment, that bunch of redundant and unused ships get added to the mod each version then they should find time to solve the real problems like balancing caps, balancing gbs and balancing the economy. I bet that none cares that we have 246346 different types of snac guns with all colours of the rainbow but most of the players have balance concerns. It is sad to see such great mod dieing because devs lack time/fail to think out of the box/does not care in general. About caps VS bombers you say get suport get suport where the hell can we finde suport when are only 40 ppl online spread to so many systems. You say if caps get good anti snubs weapons they will be OP but caps cant run all other classes can run caps cant. Call other caps to kill it. The problem about caps and bomber is that of skill. You say caps need no skill and bombers need skill. I say is totaly the other way around. Caps need a lot of skill to pilot and aim. Bombers are much more easy to play vs caps. i know i play them both. Even in the controls bombers are much more userfriendly . i mean you just use W,A,S,D and the mouse Change thruster buton to W and you are okey. Caps on the other way user must control a lot more comands. Must change all the time weapons groups, strafe douge TS change view all the time and changing all the time the targets from bomber to bomber and from bomber to torpedo. The bomber the other end have to just point and shoot and thrust away when get target from the caps. See the skill that a good cap pilot need to have to conter 2 bombers?? and the skill that a bomber pilot need to have to kill the cap??? I cannot say that Bombers are OP Did not play them as much, but what I saw was wast weapons array and many styles of playing. For me Bombers should be able to take down: Transports, Gunships, Gunboats with relative skill and relative ease. But as it goes for Destroyers, Cruisers I think some more effort should be involved. As for Battle Cruisers, Battle Ships, Carriers and Dreadnoughts should be very hard to nearly impossible. Why ? Quite simply, Logic... Size of CAP ships, their weapon array, shields in logical terms that Fighter or a Bomber down a Battleship this is simply Illogical. Need I remind U that CAP is flown by a single player, the same that can aim at single thing at any given time, same as bomber, that CAP can fire at multiple targets and engage them effectively bombers would not be an issue. If a Bomber downs CAP its 1:1 exchange and it is pity full at best, as here we have 30k hp vs 800k and if single or 2 Bombers win U know U have problem with balance. In My opinion... only CAP should down CAP end of story, I think of something like written below. Fighters vs Fighters vs Bombers vs low class transports. Bomber vs Bomber, Gunship, Gunboat and maybe Destroyer/Cruiser but downing Destroyer and Cruiser should be harder. Gunships/Gunboat vs Gunship/Gunboat vs Bomber vs Fighter vs Transports more as support role Destroyer vs Destroyer vs Gunship/Gunboat vs Bomber vs Fighter vs Cruiser Cruiser vs Cruiser vs Destroyer vs Gunship/Gunboat vs Bomber vs Fighter and maybe vs Battle Cruiser but hardly Battle Cruiser vs Battle Cruiser vs Cruiser vs Destroyer vs Gunboat/Gunship and maybe Carriers but hardly Carrier vs all classes of ships lower of its own and BS, it is carrier and should carry Fighters and bombers and offer as support. BS vs BS all lower class except Fighters, Bombers and maybe Gunships/Gunboats as its weapons would be powerful but slow Dread vs Dread and all lower class except Fighters, Bombers , Gunships/Gunboats and maybe Destroyer/Cruiser... because same reason as BS I hope that I did not bore U and that maybe this reply was useful.
