Traders like to interact with miners. Well, I've marked people for dead for less than that, so that is understandable. Also, an odd choice, since that was one of the videos, during which my mic blorked and never did record any of my voice- the one you hear during the video is the guy I was flying with. I just find this video very demonstrative of many things. There were many many more events that created my opinion. This video is rare example of being ass irp, being ass in pvp, being ass to matching official faction. And yea, I do not like almost all uses of cloak indeed. On topic, here is another take on trader problem: total majority of traders are new players, who powertrade their ass off and then will probably never go back to it. On the other hand, almost all pirates are more experienced players, who play pirate character mostly for fun, be it rp or blue. And thats why treating those sides equally will only lead to whine from both sides. I think there are at least two solutins: keeping sides highly unbalanced (lazy way), or changing nature of one side (getting rid of powertrade phenomen). I have totally no idea how to do second, though. SO, what I think should br tested on TEST SERVER (which we should have had for many years, going by nonexising logic): 1) all commodity prices at least doubled 2) small transports unchanged, or slightly increased cargo 3) big transports weapons removed, cruise speed nerf, perhaps cargo buff, armor buff 3.5) remove cruiser piracy for god's sake, making it balanced is like chiseling collosus to fit undergrond 4) Battle transports ??? BOTTOMLINE: if we dont try anything drastic, situation wont change P.S: inb4 LAST NAIL EDIT: I understand this suggestion is super full of holes and imbalances, and is frankly shit. At least its better than talking about same "bad pirates" and "bad traders" for 48652th time. (its the m ain reaosn why i pirate...) however being pirated over and over again by the same player in the same location during the same session can get a little tedious after the 3rd time and can result in me just "paying up" with no interaction what so ever. Don't stay in the same place constantly, find another trade route, or another place to mine. There are loads of locations that are unpopular mining spots, just as profitable (if not more because you fill your vessel much more quickly), find one of those and use it, if it's not mined much, it's not pirated much either. If you insist on staying in the same location, why not hire a Freelancer to deal with pirates, they won't care how much you pay them if they know they can have some decent RP and PvP with a pirate. Even if you pay them as much credits as you pay the pirate, at least you can have some LOLz when a pirate does arrive and has to deal with a Freelancer/BH. RE: Something disturbing I have noticed during my pirate-trader interactions - Lythrilux - 12-03-2013 Traders don't make it any better for pirates when they constantly ignore said pirate. It builds up ooRP hate between both parties. The Pirate and Trader thing is such a big deal only because most traders cannot go toe to toe with a pirate. If they could, I doubt people would whine about it use it as an excuse or argument in these types of threads. Perhaps that was the reason why the trans turrets were buffed in 87 in the first place. Just in case, you are messed up the characters, you come to pirate in tools like bombers and stuff against ships as agile as bricks. I would like to admire your skills and smart RP pirating a bomber in 5k train. Also try to fly around in some trading ship and you will enjoy your experience of being pirated by guys identical with you. Start this experiment for a week, RP a newcomer here and you will have the chance to encounter, guess what, a multitude of yourself on the lanes... And if this will have no fun, you are in the wrong place. And i'll repeat this becose a few ppl really read it. Wolves complain that sheeps are not happy being murdered and trying to escape. It's not small, you know. Times was, A glimpsing of the name The Final Rush was enough to send the lol miners scurrying for the Essex to escape the Dread Pirate of the Seven Fields, and bring in all the nice miners and traders (and the entire western BAF fleet) to town for a scarp and a rip-roaring good time. Times was, and still are, the Pace Della Guerra plays a nice friendly game of hide- and -go pirate with the bustling trade in Canbridge, Omega-3 , and the Kruger and IMG deep in the heart of darkness that is the stormy blanket of dust and rock of Omega-7. Sometimes I lose, but mostly I win; it's a talent. The winning, or the walking off with large lump sums of cash, enough to make my Disco Living, complete with a cruiser or two, doesn't mean i get silent traders ignoring me. Instead, I get kudos. after-action pms whose exclamation points positively resound with f-u-n. Why? Cuse i'm not a twit. It's really that simple. People play to have fun. Anything that is capital N N-O-T F-U-N gets avoided. End of discussion. roll tape. That's a wrap! (12-02-2013, 05:53 PM)Snak3 Wrote: Yeah.
