True, but on the other hand he had the same problems with Freelancer long ago, and he's been taking a break since. Hopefully he's learned his lesson. Also with 'Kickstarter' and similar phenomena, player/micro funded game development is a real possibility. I believe in this guy and his project!

EDIT: That's probably because I saw the video on the RSI page first, and not the actual announcement trailer without Chris talking. It's a bit more obvious in the latter one.

I only managed to watch the press announcement footage now, but I am completely in love with this concept. I can't wait to be aboard the =CR= Carrier and explore this new universe ^^.

Somehow I doubt that he can pull it off now even that the median is 100$ he rised around 440 000 $ from around 4500 people. If he does not hit 3-4 m we can forget about having even the half of promised in the promo.
Second thing is that his site is extremely unstable that means he haven't invested in hosting/platform/stability and the whole thing looks really homemade. The part with the unstable site is really lame because now he can cash out a lot of people due to the crowd hype and the need for such game, he is virtually loosing money instead giving small amount for steady working site and pledge system.
I hope to be wrong but I guess that eventually he would sell the whole to the suits in the big companies to make the next mainstream too easy to play game.

Ouch.. it looks great. Details in cockpit, amazing. And if world ends up huge as he plans now I may as well start saving for new PC. That game is worth buying best one.
