DarkWing - faction feedback - kingvaillant - 08-08-2008 Don'T disband, please, I will miss you on TS:( Do everything you can to prevent any kind of false rumors to be CREATED. Do what needs to be done to inform players about who and what you are. Because currently we don't know a lot about you, and thus, it creates a lot of rumors, bad ones most of the time. DarkWing - faction feedback - Raekur - 08-08-2008 1. DW will not disband period. Closest to that would be leaving the server. 2. The original idea was to leave enough mystery to prod the others here to ask questions, send diplomats over and discuss who we are. This would have allowed both sides to learn about each other. We did not realize that the community wanted all the information handed to them (a form of metagaming if you ask me). The thought process of that is summed up like this. Someone moves from one state to another or even one country to another. Once he arrives at his new home based on the community here he should place a ad in the local paper stating everything about himself all the way down to his grandmothers blood type. This simply is not done. Someone moves to a new location the FIRST thing that is done is reconnaissance and passive information gathering on the surroundings. It comes from that self preservation instinct. We have said on many occasions, if you want to know anything about us, RP it and ask. We dont hold back on information because we want to be a bunch of pricks, we did it because our leaders wanted it that way, they wanted our RP to be a bit of a mystery. Something that Discovery lacks. That is why there was no post detailing everything. We were still learning what was here as far as people, ships, equipment and the politics.. Mystery promotes a sense of adventure as it means getting your hands dirty and taking a risk. If you unwilling to take risks in life, what is the point, because your dead already. The decision is still being discussed; I just wanted to post something so the community does not think we are ignoring them. Where as most of the groups here may all be within a couple of time zones of each other, ours unfortunately spans the entire planet with almost every single time zone covered. DarkWing - faction feedback - Blodo - 08-08-2008 No Raekur, we don't want you to post all your stories now and immediately. Take note: what was criticised was the fact that you sent no signals at all to notify others that there is a mystery. It might not just be your fault, might be the fault of everyone else for taking you for granted as well. To improve that however what would be good is if you left us some clues on the forums that we could follow. Something that would get us interested in pursuing information, you know? See, when your RP assumes spontaneous involvement of other people, it is very much like as if you were making a movie. You need to guide the audience through the story sometimes so that they can realise some things later on on their own. Otherwise the audience gets bored and sleeps through the movie, and we don't want that. So if you actually want people to be asking questions, make the first move and give us a question to ask. This does not mean posting the entire story on the forums. Just a handful of clues if you wish. DarkWing - faction feedback - DW-Suzanna - 08-09-2008 ![]() ![]() DarkWing [color=#FF9966]Our Wings Will Darken The Sun History: Long ago, DarkWing was formed to be an elite fighting force from Solaria to counter the threat posed by the Shivans - a barbaric predatory race that threatened to exterminate all who inhabitated the area of the galaxy known as Freespace. The Shivans drew their power from the sun, hence DarkWing was so named to symbolically darken the sun. After many years of fighting the Shivans were defeated and DarkWing had become a highly professional Military force. The corrupt ruling military within the Freespace system fought for control of DarkWing seeking to use them for their own ends. The decision was taken by DarkWing to leave the system and travel through the galaxies surviving as bounty hunters/mercs....A signal was picked up which drew them to a distant galaxy....This galaxy known as the Sirius system contained many different factions. DarkWing decided to maintain a neutral stance as far as possible. We came as a military force and were not liked by the houses, perhaps because they did not like such a powerful unknown force in their areas. We scouted the universe looking for a home. Found terrible nomad scourge in some systems, do not understand this relentless enemy force that could not be reasoned with. Found pirate fleets and what appear to be drug cartels. A very dangerous place indeed. There is also a powerful military, fighting to bring some order, but our intel led us to believe they were related to our past enemy. Although the outer systems are full of pirates and chaos, in need of a home we moved to the outer rim to ease the fear of the friendly militaries. Using our military might to bring some level of order in the Omicrons and Omegas. We continue to protect the outer rim and make it our home. Currently DarkWing continues to work as bh, maintaining our high standards of professionalism, we are loyal to our friends, but enemies, be warned... DarkWing - faction feedback - DW-Suzanna - 08-09-2008 Thankyou ))....regarding why we are BH? its more profitable than selling ice cream!;) DarkWing - faction feedback - Unseelie - 08-09-2008 Why are you hostile to the UoG? DarkWing - faction feedback - Othman - 08-09-2008 We are not known as RA but SCRA. Please fix that. DarkWing - faction feedback - Crunch - 08-09-2008 UOG was added to hostile due to past attacks in dublin and O49. And also that they are a pirate faction operating in the Omicrons. Will be happy to move to neutral status and move forward if thats more to your current desires. DarkWing - faction feedback - Unseelie - 08-09-2008 UoG, when last I checked, were the lawful rulers of Dublin, and why mollies would be in th omicrons, I've no idea. They're not my people, just people who I made agreements with. You'll have to talk to them. |
