RE: Discovery 4.87: Conquest - Update 7 - Nocturnia - 05-19-2014 Or at least make Discovery Scanner not have 0 range... Even the old crappy range was better then this. RE: Discovery 4.87: Conquest - Update 7 - Swallow - 05-21-2014 What is wrong with switching to another scanner? RE: Discovery 4.87: Conquest - Update 7 - Jack_Henderson - 05-21-2014 A very well done update! Very short outage when uploading it. (Hardly any?) No game breaking bugs at all. Cool new content and a few balancing choices that look good from my pov. Thank you for your continued effort! I used that scanner for that reason. it was actually pivotal for my main char. i set it up that way because it was an option. as far as i assumed, the people in charge knew months ago people were using them for many ship types, and weren't losing sleep over it. imagine if your advanced deep scanner went from 16k to 8, and the deep scanner was at 6. i don't like being forced to change my set up, especially when there was no real reason to make the change, except to appease complaints from biased players that simply wouldn't use them as well. that ship kept me on disco, but is now totally different from october of last year when I created it. My RP thread proves it allowed me to track ships and increase my player interaction, as a pirate. many of those interactions grew into more. i received countless compliments from ships I had just pirated over my set up. Everyone else just wants to sit on a trade lane with a bomber and force transports into blindness so they have no hope of escape. well they didnt get what they want, and supported removing their own ability to re-balance piracy in their favor. foolish! So since I seem to lose this argument regardless of how much sense I make, I'm selling my stuff and giving it to my friends. RE: Discovery 4.87: Conquest - Update 7 - .Gypsy. - 05-21-2014 Nice update! Well done!! RE: Discovery 4.87: Conquest - Update 7 - SnakThree - 05-21-2014 TheUnforgiven, You make so little sense. The game is in beta. Everything changes. Codenames were changed so that Excaliburs are not OP anymore. Do you see everyone using those going nuts and selling their whole ships? No. Those who actually want to play the game will adapt and keep playing it. RE: Discovery 4.87: Conquest - Update 7 - Highland Laddie - 05-21-2014 Quote:... Way to be flexible enough with that apparently etched in stone RP of yours so that simply changing a Scanner range makes your ships worthless. C'mon! Give it a chance. Personally, and for the price range, I would prefer it if the BS scanner had a max range of 25k, ALONG with the powercore nerf. Am I going to quit playing because of the changes? No. RE: Discovery 4.87: Conquest - Update 7 - Binski - 05-21-2014 (05-21-2014, 04:48 PM)Snak3 Wrote: TheUnforgiven, I hate what they did to codenames actually. They're useless now. It wasn't OP to me at all. To me, what's OP or not, is an excuse to hide behind to promote changes that you favor to suit yourself, instead of seeking to gain advantage in game. Scanners are now are totally OP (not that I actually care or cared, practical game mechanics are more important than infocards ppl). How do you explain fighters getting 17k but BS scanners only getting 20k? You were the first one I saw that made the argument that BS scanners required soooo much power. I don't lobby to change stuff that doesn't suit me. The only change I ever lobbied for was making ID's inrp again, and only because no one understood it. I actually came to like the idea of them being oorp, but knew it made RP'ing with some difficult who weren't aware how it worked. Instead of trying to change game stuff to suit me, I get to know the game, and figure out how to make it work for me. Apparently, figuring out how to win, and doing it well, after 2 years of playing, is bad (same for traders). And yer right, people that aren't effected don't care. To me, I ask how many years can a game be a beta before you have to realize, that's just the game. It can't be a beta forever. So I do care. The server will be dead by the time of its final release at this rate. We're one cyber attack away from disaster, and its no surprise why disco and RP24/7 has so many enemies. So call it whatever you like. I had questioned my will to play last year, as I said, that one char was my fav and kept me on here. Now that its totally different, I can't help but feel like I'm playing with an arm tied behind my back. And for what? To stop people like me from having an extraordinary type of gameplay? that we worked for, as anyone could have! I supported traders having the 25k option, even though it worked against me, because it was fair. I can handle someone having the same advantage as me, and missing out on piracy, in the interest of fairness. I moved on to the next one, instead of crafting threads calling players cancerous to the game because they played well. Those are the players that were favored in these changes. Anyways, I was done complaining btw, but if someone asks 'why not just change scanners', I'll certainly tell them. I must admit, that this is just one of many issues that's peeved me off recently, and this didn't help. Quote:Personally, and for the price range, I would prefer it if the BS scanner had a max range of 25k, ALONG with the powercore nerf. Am I going to quit playing because of the changes? No. I was totally ok with the 25k and power nerf system. I've repeatedly said it was a fair compromise, as it got BS scanners off snubs and freighters. Wasn't good enough for the complainants though. I'm quitting, because its just a clever way to force us to change our gameplay to suit a loud minority. I'm sick of that. So whats' next? No capital armors on GB's or transports because its OP? It does say 'armor specifically for Capital Ships' in the infocard. Maybe transports with CAU's should take a speed nerf! (I don't actually think that). If a game moves in a direction you don't agree with, ya gotta draw a line somewhere. Are all you people telling me that you have no line? All of you reading this think of that one thing you'd draw your line at. If you have none, you can't be that involved in your gameplay. The real problem is that, instead of saying 'maybe that was a little to far' its 'The Gods have spoken' the end. RE: Discovery 4.87: Conquest - Update 7 - Scumbag - 05-21-2014 Maybe Jinx was right, everyone wants to be "speshul" and have the most OP combinations cause they "deserve" it. One less self entitled "the world revolves around my roleplay" guy? Fine.
