RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Thunderer - 09-23-2018 I was wondering... How do we explain this inRP? For example, I (somehow) manage to SNAC a fighter, and it doesn't explode. What's the explanation my character will believe in? Maybe overpenetration? Just goes through, makes a hole, but no extensive damage? RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Backo - 09-23-2018 (09-23-2018, 12:07 PM)Thunderer Wrote: I was wondering... When shooting light armored targets the detonation just does not trigger in time and it pierces the whole construction rather than detonating inside. And for heavy armored ships you'd want to pierce the outer hull before detonating inside to do maximal damage possible. Overpenetration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcXGCblnL8A RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Kazinsal - 09-23-2018 Given the nebulous (heh) status of what an antimatter projectile really consists of -- a medicine ball sized glob of antimatter would be enough to break an apocalyptic fragment off the moon, so it's definitely not all seetee; I've been going with most of it being a cryogenic suspension to keep the relatively small antimatter payload intact and shielded on its way to the target -- it's probably fair to make something up about reduced detonation surface resulting in the majority of the payload not being able to annihilate before it's turned into fast neutrinos by the part that could. RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Traxit - 09-23-2018 something something not enough surface area for antimatter to glue itself on the ship so it just slips away dealing impact damage only which is the 15% edit: ricochet basically RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - sasapinjic - 09-23-2018 (09-23-2018, 12:07 PM)Thunderer Wrote: Just goes through, makes a hole, but no extensive damage?Happens in warfare all the time , so yes , lucky survival is good explanation . RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Felsvar - 09-23-2018 Im still enjoying the bombers even with the plug-in. Much more meaningful fight. Get use to it. RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Exterminator - 09-23-2018 After checking the today's patch notes, seems I have wrongly understood the nerf last night, so that's my bad. At least now I know I can still use SNAC against caps, so that's good. The nerf isnt as bad as I originally thought it was, however, "high skill, high reward" aspect is gone when you're against snubs which really takes away all the fun from it. With SNAC being made useless against snubs, it would be fair that it becomes a bit more effective against caps in return RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Kauket - 09-23-2018 Still does 18k damage, a mini razor does 17.4k. That's still some damage potential, better than nothing. RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Meallan - 09-23-2018 Scatters, nukes, etc. Bombers have a lot of solutions. <3 RE: Do you think making SNAC useless vs snubs was a good idea? - Shelco - 09-23-2018 Very nice |
