I just hope there wouldn't be any "they" in events like this where you rely on people logging out of their good will. And people would make characters on both sides like I do and try to keep things balanced so the event lives on till the end. I don't see what the fun is in swarming people in more and bigger caps.

me "Can you please log the other side to keep the event going"
"nop I fucking hate Kusari" - you know who you are

Also to GMs+Devs please
ADD BATTLECRUISER WEAPONS ON THE ATTACKING FACTION'S BASE
- I stopped logging my only kusari cap more or less after 3 days because I'd have to use annoying transfers or go all the way back to Kure to change my BC loadout.

Gallic snubs were overwhelmed the same way Kusari caps were. From the beginning it was clear that neither side wanted to keep things fair. Good snub players flocked to the Gallic side because if they didn't Gallia would've had no chance. As far as I noticed Kusari only calmed down shortly before the event ended, I even made a ship to help them which I used and I was met with the same selfkilling and I heard that restocking and cruiser hugging happened (same things Kusari got accused of before that infuriated me), though I wasn't personally there during the restocking and caphugging. It really feels like the only people who switched sides all the time were the bastards who only wanted to be on the winning side, making both factions look bad.

I can't really talk about caps since I don't play them but Kusari seemed to just lack coordination. The one capfight I participated in as a (gallic) snub was pretty much entirely Tokugawas versus some Gallic caps sprinkled around so the numbers were there for them to win other fights.

I mean, more systems for snubs-only events would be nice.

PvP Plugin Events are ok. I'm on the side that they don't really work half the time and cause drama. It may have been better to have opted for a trade event instead, with players logging around that. In my experience, those usually work out better.

I didn't participate in this event once, rather I simply observed. Neither side seemed inclined to play fair, from Kusari at the outset to Gallia at the end.

Whichever one was morally "right" is up for debate.

RE: [Combat Event] - Invasion of Gallia - Lemon - 07-13-2020

Look I am used to use the dirtiest tactics possible as I play indie caps in Liberty (you have to to have any sort of fun). And Kusari
- told my repair ship to fuckoff
- told my memeboat to go away (while Gallia used a maxxed freighter and SHF)
- constantly were saying in group chats how "these ships now pull back so we have a fair fight"
- kept refusing to shoot the asshole snubs, SHF and Freighter on caps that were chasing my bomber right next to them until I spammed them with a wall of insulting messages
- Went 1 toku vs 5 rembs charging their base again saying "we fight don't dock" when I was mid-dock
- they did very little player list shenanigans. They saw people, they logged. and in first 5 days it was them openly logging and moving.

While Gallic open discord would have messages like "they logged, swarm them NOW"

I am completely impartial, joined both sides just for this event and never played them before, knew nothing about them and know way more people on the Gallic side. And I can tell you with 100% certainty that Kusari lawful caps guys are the most fair playing bunch I met in Disco so far.

Can't talk about snubs, the fights I was in on Gallic side were either furballs
or fair fights (where some guys on Ga side were calling for ganks on 2-3 snubs but got silenced by me + others)

Event was cool mostly. Nice activity.

The only thing I did not like was the constant whining from both sides.
Especially when it is about docking, restocking, self killing. None of those things should bother anyone, they are simply part of how freelancer combat works.
Next time think about removing those silly reward points and keep the respawn timer at one hour.

Thanks for organizing it in any case!

It sure feels good to be outnumbered, drain a man, and then have the man escape with a sliver of his health remaining, effectively having wasted my and my teammates' time subconsciously telling me to either not give a damn or tryhard and make sure that the enemy team doesn't have any time whatsoever to play the game. It isn't fun for them, it isn't fun for me. It also isn't fun for me to have to rely on teammates to CD-kill people with low health because I will always refuse to do it. Nobody likes being CD-killed, and I absolutely loathe doing it. People doing zero damage in a fight and then Wasp/Hornet-ing the kill at the end is worse than the man killing himself with a nuke.

God forbid someone who is actually good at the game goes to restock, comes back full and throws whatever balance the snubfight had into the gutter. One good way to make sure everyone hates your guts and make sure that you always die first, your POBs are permanently dead and that you have a very bad experience playing the game is to be a complete asshole during gameplay. It doesn't matter who the player behind the enemy ship is, put yourself in their situation and think if you'd enjoy getting railed with no chance to do anything but altf4 and play something else.

tl;dr bad attitude is bad

RE: [Combat Event] - Invasion of Gallia - Stuffz - 07-13-2020

If the ship docks in range, then it is pvp dead. If you let it escape, then that is somewhat on you.
Besides, this entire restocking thing did happen once during this entire event. So I believe getting that worked up over it is certainly not productive.
