Battleships- a solution - n00bl3t - 09-03-2009 ' Wrote:Factions need to be encouraged, and players need to be encouraged to roleplay and group with rest of community. For what better way is there to teach the inexperienced to roleplay? Give them a chance to be in faction and make them work for it. Choice. Your are only leaving one, realistically. As for bomber nerfing, just compare the size:wtfpwn and the cost:wtfpwn ratio of capitals to bombers. Then, continue whinging about capital ships. Battleships- a solution - Internity - 09-03-2009 Quote:QUOTE(Cheshire @ Sep 3 2009, 01:55 AM) Jinx speaks the truth. I have a dreadnought and I worked hard to get it, I wrote a role play story about it and I know how to role play with it. If I`m an indy that doesn't mean I`m a lolwutter. Everyone should be able to buy the ship and role play with it. Jinx said about favouritism and other things, favouritism is going to bring this server down if people keep making posts like this with "restrict that" "restrict this one " restrict the other one" How about adding even more rules and restrictions, around 40 more rules and restrictions. Battleships- a solution - Exsiled_one - 09-03-2009 I'm actually not whining about the battleship as a vessel. I'm not whining at all, I mean, I don't need one but at the same time I think some people do. But what you're doing here is digging out the hole for both of us. I find it kinda sad that you didn't quote the other part of my same post, where i say that I have no doubt that good roleplayers will get their capital ships and remain independent. Why didn't you quote that as well? This way it seems that my post was utterly offensive to your style of roleplay so you decided to bash down on mine. "If you are an excellent roleplayer, trust me, noone will take your ship away, and you'll know exactly what to do in this situation" ^ Maybe this part wasn't clear enough. If anything Ivan, there needs to be a restriction against terrorist-like pirates who charge insane taxes in the hope that people do not pay them just to get their PVP fix. Especially considering it has been said how traders are the lifeblood of Discovery. Much more of an issue than this hyper-inflated forum "lolfad" against independent capital ships. Battleships- a solution - silverleaf - 09-03-2009 I feel a player group has no right to make everyone who wants to fight for that allignment join them or can;t do this, that and that. Battleships- a solution - Camtheman Of Freelancer4Ever - 09-03-2009 Yeah that is rather true nooblet, Ive seen that happen before where pirates charge excessive amounts (10m plus) and the trader says no and they get pew pew pewed... Thats a bit ridiculous... Traders are the lifeblood of Discovery If there are no traders, then there are no pirates to tax, and there are no lawfuls to kill the pirates. Battleships- a solution - Seth Karlo - 09-03-2009 I like option 2. Go for it, it makes the fights more fun, but taking battleships away from the good Rpers would be pretty mean... -Seth Battleships- a solution - Exsiled_one - 09-03-2009 This isn't post about powerhungry pvp pirates, make one of those, and call out people that do it. We call out people that abuse capital ships too much and do oorp things with them. It's called sanction reports. This isn't completely about lolwuters it's about how the entire battleship situation reflects on the community. Also, pirating for 10mil plus is bonkers, and at the moment when they stop gunboat piracy that will end too. It is your problem that you're not loud enough with that suggestion, because when you start to get loud, I'll be right there next to you, supporting your decision of no gunboat piracy, exactly like you should be supporting this idea, because it's certainly not here to "cripple your rp" and entire forum isn't against you. This isn't completely about lolwuters it's about how the entire battleship situation reflects on the community. The entire BS situation is about faction people getting upset because some person managed to put in the effort, yes, trading, even power-trading, is effort, and manages to out-trade their entire faction. This makes them jealous and makes their capital ship seem small in their jaded eyes. (It could be fixed with some counselling about inferiority complex, but instead, they take some pills and come onto the forums to vent.) I have no problem with GB's pirating me. Really. None. I have problems with people managing to make off with 80% of my profits with little effort on their part. This idea cripples all independent RP, whether you like it or not. When factionalised capital ships have to be approved by independents, that is when I will agree to such an abusable decision. As for the forum being against me, how does that fit into this at all? (I am sure, even at smallest relation possible, it is not an issue which affects Discovery.) Battleships- a solution - chovynz - 09-03-2009 It is seriously not that big a deal as people are making it. No. I'm opposed to factions controlling ships. If you are part of the NPC faction you should be able to buy any of that NPC factions ships. Joe, edited by Hyung Wrote:Well in very much the same way I suggested dealing with battleships. A group of players who know the area, roleplay of the area, and understand the nature of a faction should be able TO BUY SOME BOMBERS AND TAKE CARE OF THE "PROBLEM SHIPS". ^ Here's a novel idea. One that works well. ---------- We do not need more rules. This puts "server" rules into the hands of people of this forum "community". Often in the hands of one person as faction leader. You all have seen what happens when one person goes bad. (No disrespect intended to those who are actually trying to make things better.) It also forces people to come to the forums, and frankly, most of the time, these forums suck (the attitudes and behaviour displayed here). "Lets not make it Forumlancer" either. |
