I agree with Hribek on this. I've taken my Mako into battle against Praefects, Gebs, and Reshpehs before and have certainly made them sit up and notice with my primaries at long range. Heck, I've done that with my Bullhead, too.

What makes gunboats so wtfpwnzor against fighters/bombers is the neverending missilespam. Which, i use myself against... anything that thinks shield running works well against a gunboat....
I assume your talking about the trident, as its currently the best gunship around. Purely out of 3 facts:
- shape
- firepower
- agility
The trident is mighty powerful, but actually, beating a cruiser in a gunboat aint easy, but it aint hard. Just using the CD's effective and alot of pulses and razors and you'll get far. Maybe you wont beat it, but heck, you will surely make it unable to take on another enemy without risk of loosing.
Since i assume your talking about the trident ill tell you this; Keep within 300m, learn how to dodge missiles and razors at close range and make sure your snac aim is accurate even without the crosshair.

Meh - I say this:
1) Get rid of the Gunboat Pulses and Razors.
2) Make factional versions of the Cerberus Turret - THEY are the true 'primary' turret - the current factional GB turrets are really secondaries.
3) Give more ships access to a Forward Gun (or variations thereof). THIS should be a Gunboats main anti-cap gun.
