Jack Aubrey: Don't even try to think that.
He brought his hand onto his face, cleaning the sweat.
Jack Aubrey: We need to dump the case. I'll carry the machinegun, try to take as many belts of ammo that you can. I'll do the same.
He noticed an old half smashed mirror. And he looked towards it.
Jack Aubrey: We look like the character in that old Sol movie.. uhm.. what was the name of the stupid film? Oh right, Rambo.

Joe fastened the ammo and wrapped it around his chest. He laughed at Jack's resemblance with the "Rambo" figure.
Joe : I have not watched it, sir. But if we ever get out, i will. By the way, let me carry your scoped rifle, otherwise you carry too much and you might get exhausted before we make it out of this sh.thole. I will try to contact Dave again. Do we have any spare batteries for that communicator? Since the old ones died in the speaker system.

The long and old tunnel was very unstable as he passed near a hole in it, he could see a room, apparently a lab, filled with different K'Hara specimens. Some of them were lurking in it, others were asleep.
Dave : Look there Erik, we should go really slowly. That *points to the room* might cost our lives.

Jack looked around for some batteries, but he didn't had or found any.
Jack Aubrey: There's the elevator shaft, we need to find a way to wrench it open. Here, pick my knife, insert it between the doors and I'll slide it aside. Ready?

Joe took the knife from Jack and prepared it between the doors. The knife sled in between rather easily and he looked at Jack. While nodding he replied.
Joe : Ready!

When the door sled open, a burst of cold air refreshed them.The elevator was blocked at two levels above them, leaving the shaft beneath it empty, and dark. Jack unpacked everything that he had in his backpack, retrieving two cord-lines, the same that he used to enter in the compound. He gave an end to Joe, and he tied the other end to himself. Ensuring that if one of them should fall, the other one would suffice the counter-weight.
Jack Aubrey: I hate to crawl inside rusty elevator shafts like a rat. I hope that Dave and Erik are still alive.
Then he tied another rope on the elevator door's handles, which would be used as the main rope with which they would descend.
Jack Aubrey: I hate this...I damn hate this.

Dave : It must be close... I think we're reaching the end of the tunnel. There ! I think I can see a shaft...
Dave and Erik went to the end of the tunnel. Luckily there was the opening to the elevator. They hoped Jack and Joe were nearby.
Dave : Ok Erik, I think we will need to get up... very very carefully.
