Old balance issues - Eppy - 04-19-2008 The Bretonian Battleship is a very well-balanced craft. It has 440000 armor and twelve forward-firing guns. The Outcast Battleship. Not a very well-balanced craft, with 410000 armor and ten forward-firing guns. Look at the chart, please, taken with the help of handy-dandy HardCMP: ![]() As you can see, the Outcast Battleship has a bigger forward cross-section and is almost twice as long as the Bretonian Battleship. As a capwhore (bias as the designer notwithstanding, as I don't even own one they're so bad), and after discussion with several other capwhores of some repute (Glyph, Lancer, Razr) I think I can safely recommend that her armor be increased to 450000-460000 and that it should be increased to sixteen guns, twelve or fourteen of which should be forward-firing. I'd also like to remind people that the Outcast Battleship is almost as long as our Dreadnought (which is my fault, I suppose, but people kept saying 'make it longer, Eppy'), which has 500000 and sixteen guns. This ship is thinner but almost as vulnerable, especially from the top, when it is actually more-so than with the Dreadnought. Old balance issues - Jinx - 04-20-2008 allways a surprise to see how small some vanilla BBs are. - but you must admit that the outcast BB looks sort of... fragile. ( compared to the zoner jug / rheinland BB which are really "massive" ) - maybe a little armour boast for all the battleships would be nice, but i think that ll fail at the fighter-users front. Old balance issues - McNeo - 04-20-2008 >.< Can the Legate have 18 guns now? No? The Bretonian battleship is one of the best out there. I actually prefer one to an Osiris from 4.83 because it feels more versatile. I dont have time to post in depth about it, but it doesn't need 14 forward firers. Old balance issues - X-Lancer - 04-20-2008 man...Bretonia BS has 14 guns......BHG BS has 14 gun and it's half of the lenght..about the same width..and has much smaller head profile..NOT FAIR... Old balance issues - tk9780 - 05-28-2008  A Simple request could we have it so the 'Large Container Transport' - has the option to carry a Counter-Measure [CM] system. :) Thanks Old balance issues - Dennis Jameson - 05-29-2008 ' Wrote::rolleyes:  Yeah.... right. They don't have any countermeasures because they're really not suposed to be in combat. Old balance issues - MrCynical - 06-01-2008 The capital ship weapons generally need to be rebalanced. At the moment the high-power weapons (Inferno etc.) are only available as unlawful versions. The result of this is that lawfuls use them anyway to avoid hopelessly unbalanced fights. It would be better for RP if the next version of Discovery had lawful equivalents - with the usual variations found in faction weapons (e.g. slightly higher refire rate/slightly lower range, etc.) Old balance issues - mjolnir - 06-01-2008 Right now capship infernos/mortars/razors are considered free for all to use. Old balance issues - MrCynical - 06-01-2008 ' Wrote:Right now capship infernos/mortars/razors are considered free for all to use. I know - that was my point, factions of all varieties have to use weapons marked as Order/Corsair/Whatever because there aren't faction equivalents. It's within the server rules to use them, but it would be better RP-wise if lawfuls had their own equivalents. Old balance issues - mjolnir - 06-21-2008 Some VHF might need fine-tuning in terms of balance, ships and suggestions are here: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?ac...t=0#entry276973 I edited the first post to include suggestions made by other people later in the thread. |
