Does RP even matter? - Jack_Henderson - 09-08-2011 Govedo, the movecode was in the text. The ships are all gone. Any attempts are smashed. The point? Just Q_Q and complain. Does RP even matter? - SA_Scavenger - 09-08-2011 ' Wrote:This is funny. Well, not funny. Mostly pathetic. Lets talk about it. Nice guy. And RP is for the forums. Does RP even matter? - CzeReptile - 09-08-2011 ' Wrote:This is funny. Well, not funny. Mostly pathetic. Lets talk about it. So your view means to have any chance in talking with pirate is to fly a dromedary? What will you charge em for then? I am stashing the cash to buy better ship? Yay me. That really adds it. Corporate haulers, can they RP the ship is company asset, would you buy that, LOLNO, GIEF CASH. Roleplay is not just playing the role, try think. There are others around you at the time. Try 0.0 rule all the time. Ive let people go for bad reasons, even I let folks go just for talking to me, smaller fine, be nice. Its just a game. But your argumentation is one meaning, whatever we do, silly traders in 5kers, youll charge us insane amount of cash, CUZ U CAN. People like you and their opinions make this place sad. All this roleplay you throw around. There are very very very few people who RP properly. Im not amongst them, tho im trying. Have a story behind your character, act ONLY as you thought out his personality, do not act how does it suit your current situation so you wouldnt have to let the trader go. Some pirates, who are like that, with stories, are hilarious to meet. Ill pay those guys anytime. To you, id rather get my ship deleted, cause you simply aint worth those game credits for such actions and "roleplay". And no, it is not an insult, just a roleplay of a trader on forum. NOt sarcastic. Silent trader, who does not talk with pirates? Why would he if he is not willing to be pirated and attempts to run by surprise and suceeds it? He avoided loss of profit or ship's destruction. Roleplay action had positive roleplay consequence. Chatty pirate decided, that he wants to chat with trader, and to his surprise, being all nice and such, gets military on his back, because trader was calling back up at that time. Rolplay action that led to roleplay consequence. Yes, the first part is essentially right, but as you said, their roleplay is somehow not thought out and they cannot adapt to situation that does not go as planned. THats not as good as it could be roleplay imo. Silent traders are those who just pass by, say nothing or insult you. Indeed, talkign to pirate is just an option, nobody can force you, but it kind of makes you look better. And frankly, how many times do you avoid by being silent and thrusting. The third § is basically the chat vs chat vs I CALL BAKUP thing. IT happens. Talk, but not for long. I used to decrease demands to avoid being shot. Thats just how it is. I stand by my statement bout people unable to properly RP all they should. With 20 chars per player, its hard. I stay in character, but story for any of my pilots? Well one, and no time to develop. Im just casual roleplayer, I envy those who have stories and history for their characters. Not the silly slave/military/revenge ones, but better, like a book. Rolplay action that led to roleplay consequence. How is that a consequence? So pirate dont get paid, but had the nice chat. 2 Win, everybody happy. I'm curious - how many times raids were succesfull in a pirates life? I would call this fun. And it's pretty cool way of making clear statements. Does RP even matter? - Snak5 - 09-08-2011 Having written wall of text does not mean player is good roleplayer. He might simply have writing talents. Roleplay is carrying out your role. Pirate - pirating. Greedy pirate - pirating hard. Chatty Pirate - Chatting piracy. etc. I would not even call engagment notice as good roleplay if two mortal enemies are fighting. We cannot really judge roleplay without bias, as it looks different to all of us. What one calls 2 million demand a good roleplay, might mean he likes the fairplay. Another person might say he would have demanded twice as much, since that would be what his pirate character's role is. Does RP even matter? - Snak5 - 09-08-2011 ' Wrote:How is that a consequence? You dont need to write textwall, all you need to know is who your character is, how we reacts, acts and behaves. Adapting from your chair without regard to your previous actions is just basic roleplaying. Tsk tsk. |
