Gorramit I wish I wasn't firewalled in right now. I finally got around to exploring Newcastle thoroughly in open-SP, and the possibilities are huge... such as the random ancient mine fields lying around. Hmm, Keepers, anyone? Could draw good attention to Bretonia- RPers seem to flock to Keepers, as far as I can tell PvPers avoid them like to plague for fear of getting owned horribly. (justifiable fear)

I hate Newcastle... (not in RL... it is actually one of my fav places and where I went for one of my stag nights... however I digress wildly) . In FL terms it is just too big and inconsistant.
It has lots of nearly good ideas.
But...
Mollys owning a base attached to a trade lane! [Who maintains that one eh?]
Trade lanes leading to "dead ends". Jump holes to lots of diverse places... but so far apart that it is quicker to go "the long way round"... and then there is the one place in Sirius to sell Plutoneum, for twice the price of ANY other base. I just hate it...:crazy:

I like it for the fact it's so damn big you can sit in the middle and watch as people hunting you spread out to cover all the jh's and bases.

I doesn't make it more plausible... If the trade lane was all broken up at least I'd understand... As it is, are we to believe Aegira (who I believe are contracted to fix all lanes) go out and fix it?

well i started talking about an IMg faction in faction boards and i came to think that the war between the BMM and IMG could also be used to populate bretonia
since IMG have bases in the Tau systems and a freeport between liberty and bretonia and BMM being based in Bretonia itself and reaching towards the Tau systems could this war be implemented in anyway to get more pilots to populate Bretonia?

I do not see why there would ever be a "war" between the IMG and the BMM. They are competitors, but they are not going to start a war with each other.
The other thing is, PvP does not bring people to systems. At least, it does not bring the people we want to bring. *Cough PvP whores Cough* Events, trade routes, and RP bring other RPers to systems.

well one major reason they would be at war with each other is the ice and asteroid fields of the Tau's systems which they would be fighting over and also from the in-game lore i read IMG seem to be more aligned with the Kusari navy wheras BMM would be aligned with the BAF although the lore i read was awhile ago and i could be wrong
besides there is a fair few trade routes in the tau's that seem profitable (maybe not as much as the NB>NT route but it is still profitable) which could bring traders along
