RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Duvelske - 05-01-2013 While Richard Cole heard several people talking he was just on his ease walking around. Observing the problems and opinions of the others. Richard was long enough on the background. He decided to make a stand. "Kallisti folks, Some might know me others might not. So i shall fully introduce myself. My name is Richard Cole. I am the owner of Freeport XXI located within the Tau 29 system. It is next to Freeport 6 for the ones who are more aware of Commander Matok his station." a brief pause followed while he took a drink from his glass of water. "We all have our problems throughout whole Sirius. But as i did hear the Gauls are the worst in my case then. It is true, we have had several incidents with Gauls. But they seem to have more interest towards Bretonia then towards Kusari, Tau 29 and Baffin. I am not aware if the Gauls are aware of the entrance towards Coronado. As it is well hidden within the nebula. This might differ in views of each and every individual out here. But besides the Gauls, there are also other threats. For example the Nomads. I am not sure how the experiences are with these flying organisms?" He takes another drink from his glass of water. "Before I will come to my small request and personal decision for joining the Confederation of Freeports. I think we could best discus first the main problems and how we would solve it within the Confederation of Freeports. As I just wandered around here and did hear some problems. I must agree with the remark Dr John Henry Holliday made about the Gauls. I have seen them within Omicron Lost even! So instead of thinking locally.. We must think united!" with these last words he went towards the bar with his empty glass and ordered another glass of water and did overhear the reactions of the others.. RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Aazalot - 05-01-2013 Voncloud stood up from where he was sat with Thomas and Dr mojo, to address everyone in responce to the Gallics, that did seem to be a major issue on everyones mind "I can see that you are all worried about the Gallic threat of invasion, and to what it may hold for us as Zoners, however i do not think we can begin to think the worse. Our main asset has, and always will be diplomacy, we in the OSI have a neutral understanding with the Gallics that allow us limited trade rights, in one way..we could use this as a foot in the door, why not use OSI's current standing, to begin full on diplomatic relations with the Gallia House" The fox motions to the wine alot of people had been drinking "We have all Savoured the wine, none of us scoffed..or turned our noses up at it for being Gallic...so why should we do that to the people themselves?. Right now, Zoners are tarred with the same brush as the other houses, why? because of lack of communication. If we open up the communication, we may put ourselves in a better position IF this invasion were to occur" Voncloud scans the room for amoment "Think about it..it is in our power to do something..we just need to act on it.." He finally sits down after saying his piece RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Gypsie - 05-01-2013 Mojo wasn't sure if it was time for him to speak his mind about Gallia, he wished that the Cof and FPDF matters were closed before that, else all would mix up. He watched Doc's reaction to the words of Jerard with interest.
RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - danski2011 - 05-01-2013 Mr Bloggs pulled out an ear piece and put it into his left ear.
"Hello Mr Bloggs" came the voice of his loyal assistant Lisa. "Ah hello there Lisa, so tell me what has been said so far?". Over the next ten minutes Lisa filled Bloggs in on each of the speeches that had been made. Once he had been fully briefed he had to decide what to do - make a speech or talk with people who had already made their speeches. Bloggs got up of his seat and moved over to where Commander Matok was. "Ah, you must be the legendary Commander Matok" in truth Bloggs had only just heard of this fellow through communications with Lisa. "I heard your speech" lied Bloggs. "I would like to be able to offer my assistance to you, whilst Freeport 101 only has a small fleet of warships I would be happy to lend to you whatever firepower we have - I fear this will not be enough to secure your sector of space for good however we are not yet engaged in a full on war (and quite frankly Bloggs hoped they wouldn't be for a while) and what help we can send should be able to alleviate some of the stress for now". Bloggs may have lied about knowing the commander however his offer of friendship/assistance was genuine, the Gallic threat was only growing and he would do what he could to help, offcourse if the firepower that he sent there happened to guard any TZR ships that happened along that way then there was a nice added bonus. "so what do you say, will you allow me to station a warship or two there?" RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Doc Holliday - 05-01-2013 If there was one thing that was a touchy subject to John Holliday, it was the Gallic Royals. First betrayal by Aurelia DeFrance, the presence of Joseph DeFrance in Omicron space and then them consistently breaking off diplomatic efforts. Doc wanted to take a back seat at this Summit but it was getting harder to. He again excused himself from John Rackham. As he walked his way to the stage, he spoke. "Mr. Voncloud, I have acted upon diplomacy with the Gallic Royals. I swallowed my hatred of what Aurelia DeFrance did not just to me but to the Zoners." he stood before Voncloud for his next line, "And I did so because the OSI told me to bury it, that past events with a rogue TAZ captain was my fault and that I should try to make amends. I don't imagine I'll be hearing those claims again since I did what was suggested." He then continued his walk, his hands before him. "I don't know who here besides a few TAZ veterans, Matok and and OSI remembers the Treaty of Bethlehem. Initially, it looked good. But when it is signed by a traitor, well, to me it now means nothing." He then returned to his side with John Rackham, "As I said, I extended the olive branch to the Royals, not just for TAZ but for all Zoners. They walked out. If one of you wants to try it, be my guest. I'm finished." RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Aazalot - 05-01-2013 Voncloud watched as Holiday walked over to him, listening to what he had to say, his tone and expression changed a little, he rubbed an ear, almost like a scolded child. "My apologies..i wasn't aware that such things had happened before..I am a little behind on some diplomatic matters, i wont disregard the chance of diplomatic relations..but, i now understand why so much concern over the Gallics, prehaps i too should worry" The fox couldnt help feel like a bit of an arse for not knowing more about the treatys and such, but he sat down once he had been put right to mull things over RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Gypsie - 05-01-2013 The doctor, seeing as the CoF matter was not being adressed, walked once more to the stage..
Well gentlefolk, seeing how we are already about to get all in on the Gallic threat topic, I'd like to invite all of you who yet don't belong to the Confederation of Freeports, to state if you would like to join. Ask yourselves this before... What do you have to lose? Then raise your hand if you want in. RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Lucky - 05-02-2013 LeRoux considered one last time before finally arriving at a decision...... "M. d'Autoine, these are indeed dangerous times and we are on the brink on in infernal conflict which threatens our very existence. The time has come to make allies where we can, especially among brother Zoners and fortify ourselves against the potential storm. I see the Commonwealth and its aims and raison d'etre as being broadly aligned with the ideals of Freeport 10 and therefore, having thought about our long distance communications over the previous months, accept your motion in principal, let me state it back to you in my own words so that we understand each other: The Commonweath will base its organisation on on Freeport 10 and be free to use all of its facilities and in return will provide protection for the Freeport whilst I shall take position within the Commonwealth and provide administrative services including accommodation and stock as required . In addition, the Freeport will sign up to the Confederation in which you and I will have an equal voice on behalf of the Freeport." Looking up and around Lucky added...."This would be the moment to declare Freeport 10 for the Confederation M. d' Autoine....., Doctor Van Mojo is seeking accord from the stage.....Are we agreed? We can hash out any further details later if we decide it's necessary." RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - n00bl3t - 05-02-2013 Tobias Parkes was a bit taken aback by the famous pope suddenly popping his head into a private conversation. However, this was not the time to address this rudeness, especially considering he was about to do essentially the same thing. After Dr Mojo's announcement, people were speaking, most likely discussing their options. Parkes stood up out of his seat and shouted for the amphitheatre to echo, "As the Administrator for Freeport 11, I object! Having seen and felt the mistakes of the old Zoner Alliance and the Council of Zoners, I put forth that the show of hands to join the Confederacy come after the discussions of the Gauls. Only after that discussion can the smaller stations be sure we are not being dragged down into another majority decision that will weaken us as a whole. If you are being forthright Dr Van Mojo, you have no right to object!" RE: First Baffin Zoner Zummit at The Zenarch, Malaclypse Freeport - Joggin - 05-02-2013 Rackham was relaxed, leaning nonchalantly against one of the pillars to the side of the amphitheatre when Doc returned.... and with a gentle touch on his elbow, motioned to the buffet. " Doc, let's get a slice of cake and a brew, I was looking around at the faces when you were talking... many seem to have forgotten the Treaty of Bethlehem and some of the new folks, they just looked blank. Seems like the realities from back then have been forgotten and Zoner history is about to repeat itself. I feel like I'm in a piggin' time loop." *Sotto voice* "But thinking local to Baffin... Matok seems to have made his mind up to stay away from Zoner committee entanglements... and we have other Allies near enough. So let's keep our powder dry for the time being, eh? No need to dive into the pool or stir up the dirt at the bottom.....I'm gonna watch this whole show with great care and attention. Let's discuss if we need to organise any private meetings." |
