To: The people of Texas From: Dallas Base - Kosa - 06-08-2013 <<<INCOMING TRASNMISSION>>> <<<TRANSMISSION TYPE: SYSTEM-WIDE>>> <<<ENCRYPTION: NONE>>> <<<PRIORITY: HIGH>>> ![]() To all stations and spaceships in the Texas system, First, let me introduce myself. My name is Thomas Kosa. Only son of John Kosa, freelancer transport captain, current commander of Dallas Base. I had a dream once. This dream was to create a harbour of peace and welfare in the middle of pitifully low life standards. And believe me I have seen the worst. On Planet Houston millions would deserve to live a normal life - as would anyone else. My goal was to grant them this life. A life where people don't have to work all day long only to see their family become shattered. Where talented boys don't have to waste their talents just because their families are poor and there is no school in which they could learn. Where average everyday people - just like you and me - have a place to call HOME. So a couple of days ago Dallas Base was built by a few hundred spaceport workers, planetary transport drivers, unemployed people and a handful of underpaid scientists. People of different age, gender, ethnicity all with a common goal: Happiness. The base was established in secret due to my fear the police would shut down the entire operation before it even started. The place was chosen to be next to the Junkers base Beaumont base so that the everyday supplies of Dallas are provided easily and the base would be able to develop undisturbed. I made a mistake. As nobody was told this base was going to go up there, obviously, the Junkers saw a threat in its existence. As did the navy. The base was prepared to withstand a attacks and the people on board did their best. It was their life at the stake. The new generation shield protected the base and we survived several bombardments. Despite no guns were fired on behalf of Dallas base, we caused much more havoc any gun could. The life of the junkers living on Beaumont were made impossible with the continuous navy presence and that affected the economy of the whole system. The base quickly became a contradiction of itself as it pushed even more people to debt, uncertainity and desperation. It gave liberty officials unnecessary and expensive work, blocked trade with Beaumont thus discouraged freelance traders to come to a system already struck by years of war. I myself was so obsessed with the construction of Dallas base that I failed to see the events happening outside. Now all I have is shame in my heart and long, troubled nights with no sleep. People of Texas! I am responsible for all these recent troubles but I swear I will make a compensation! I will end the chaos I caused - this way or the other. And I will make my - and your - dream come true! Thomas out! ![]() <<<SIGNAL: FADING>>> <<<TRANSMISSION OVER>>>
