Traveling Europe - Avalanche - 07-01-2013
Hey guys, I want to look into traveling Europe, I have money to spend and lots of places I want to see. Don't say about America or Asia or whatever, starting locally. But I want any insider help on websites that'll help with my touring. I have a few in mind but of course with many members actually living in many countries in Europe, I'm hoping for some possible insider knowledge.
For example in England we have the NationalRail.co.uk website for trains and all but I'm hoping any of you can give me usual links to travel any countries in train, bus, or whatever. Links to their companies to help me plan ahead. Anything you think I'll need to travel your country. Many thanks!
Oh and i'm not entirely sure on where I'll be going so everyone in European countries please help!

you can have cheap flight tickets at http://www.easyjet.com and http://www.ryanair.com
last year I had some flights with easyjet, it was faster and cheaper than the train or the bus.
however there are some limits on the luggage so check that part carefully.

In case you may want to travel through Hungary by train. Not sure how helpful it will be tho.
Oh, and if you visit Budapest, don't miss checking out the new extension of the Budapest Zoo. They got a brand new monkey house separate from the rest of the complex for like 3 years already, the building itself is quite nice, an architectural marvel, right next to the Danube on the Pest side.

In case you might want to go to the Balkans through Slovenia or visit it on its own.

Even more unnerving is the fact that most rails are extremely worn out, trains rusty and horrendously slow. Considering how small the country is, a bus is a better choice.

If you want to go around germany i can recommend
www.mitfahrgelegenheit.de , which is a car-pooling community for "longer" trips. I use it about twice a month to cross Germany, never had any problems so far and it is way, way, way cheaper than using our horribly expensive trains.
Also, if you have time on your travels you can use busses, that would be even cheaper, one example would be https://www.berlinlinienbus.de/index.php
I never tried these though.
also, airberlin.de is one of the cheaper companies for all your flight needs.

Whatever you do in Germany, try to avoid our trains whenever you can.

Or anywhere else in the UK, really. It's crap and it rains a lot. Especially avoid Northern Ireland; our biggest tourist attraction is a load of hexagonal rocks. What the advertisements don't tell you is the length of the coach ride to actually see them and the torrential rain which you can guarantee will accompany your visit.
