Zoner ID and POB's, this struck me as odd - AceofSpades - 07-08-2013

This is the current Zoner ID

-Pilot carrying this ID is a Zoner who:

-Can attack lawful and unlawful targets in self-defense, to protect another trader, or in defense of Zoner bases.

-Cannot dock cruisers, battleships, or transports with more than 3,600 cargo within House Space, except Aomori Station, the Battleship Hood and Zoner bases.

So since they can only attack in "self-defense" or in defense of a Zoner bases, wouldn't Zoner ships collaborating to attack a POB be a violation of the rules?
Note: I'm not being raided or attacked by Zoners, but I see plenty of Zoner Caps mucking about, and wondered this to myself.

So my question is, would attacking a POB in a system without a Zoner base be going against the ID restrictions?

Violation of rules? What are you talking about; in disco, admins don't care about ID abuse anymore, especially zoner ID.

Yes, but remember if its one of those bases that fires on everyone, then the zoner would be allowed to attack it in self defence.

The rules regarding pob's are murky at best....

The only "rules" I'm aware of are what Cannon and Aet quoted in various posts, which I can't find right now.

They're there though, somewhere.

I'm going to say no, because you've provided too little information. For example, if a base is blockading the primary or only access to a system with Zoner bases,, I think they would be well within their rights to remove it to ensure the safety of their supply shipments and by extension their bases, assuming diplomatic solutions have been attempted and failed.

Yes, in fact PoBs are seen as players. Thus, one has to stick to his ID rules and even give an engagement notice and/or provide roleplay about the siege.

However, there are no clear rules yet, and none gives a - you know what.

Just throw something out in green for the mob or update those god damn server rules for I'll contribute some orange for now. Watch your language. -Champ sake.

Some things to know before sieging a base ( in regards to zoners )

-Pobs are considered players, nomads, vegtables, and as such a person must rp before engaging it while they play in a rp server.

-Igiss ( could be cannon ) I believe made sure that zoners CANNOT attack other ZONERS, Unless its in self defense ( which the person who fired the first shot will be sanctioned ).

-For a zoner to actually engage someone requires more than just a few words, however It can be done with a few words if the person is smart ( consider NFZ with nephil ).

player bases are not really players, rule wise.
Only in terms about 'lolkilling it without reason' - that's when its considered a 'player'
just to cover 5.2.
why don't the admins write rules about player bases already, god damnit, it would save a lot of hassle.
