Idea: The Kudos For Good RP Thread - GhothaAyala - 08-03-2013 I've often found people that provide small snippets of good RP here and there but given the size of Sirius and the restrictions our chars have on movement I don't always run into them. Sometimes our chars are simply on opposite sides and there is no good RP excuse for us to... Well... RP. And even if we do match, maybe the heat of the moment or some other happenings make us forget to ask for forum info and the such for future RP. So I wonder if a thread like this would be any sort of useful
Bad idea? Good Idea? Let me know. RE: Idea: The Kudos For Good RP Thread - Karst - 08-03-2013 Uh....do we really need more than one Kudos Thread? That one is already closer to Flood than any thread outside of Flood. RE: Idea: The Kudos For Good RP Thread - Rodent - 08-03-2013 You could try making a thread where people share logs of RP they saw as fun, great or simply innovative. That'd be different enough in purpose from the kudos thread to work alright. The already existing Kudos thread clearly states in the OP what it's original intentions was. If people wanna give kudos every damn time they've had some pewpew with somebody, then there should be a separate thread for that instead. Giving kudos as soon as there's been some pewpew is almost like giving kudos to someone for logging his char. Call it the "Good RP Pastebin" or something, and link to Pastebin for people to upload logs. I for one would be very interested in reading and contributing to a thread like that. RE: Idea: The Kudos For Good RP Thread - Narcotic - 08-04-2013 I thought we have 'message dumps' for that? One is also allowed to kudos people for the roleplay/pew only. I doubt that there's a need for more kudos threads. There also exist feedback threads by the way. RE: Idea: The Kudos For Good RP Thread - Markus_Janus - 08-04-2013 Everything the OP has mentioned makes perfect sense. But yeah the current Kudos thread is the perfect place for it. I must have missed that thread, it is indeed overflowing and it is mainly just praising people. My idea includes that but is mainly about matchmaking, contact and awareness. I.e. Name: Ghotha Ayala Occupation: Lawful Trader From Crete [And here a tiny summary of the RP, no need for many details, the fact that it is features in the thread should be enough for people to get ideas.] (08-03-2013, 07:52 PM)Lucky Luke Wrote:(11-25-2007, 09:02 AM)Drake Wrote: A few days ago, someone suggested making a new 'Kudos' forum where people could praise other people for good RP, keeping their cool in a frustrating situation, or whatever. This is more about the RP than the pew, and more about the matchmaking than the Kudos. Someone suggested a good idea which changes the intent of this proposed thread, see next point. That would also be a fine addition to this idea, a place to find the in game interactions of players that we don't see on the forums. I know I had many adventures that no one will ever know about. A compendium of RP logs, summaries and screens. Many people I have met but given the nature of the RP, we could not congratulate each other or exchange contact info to RP again some other time. For example, tonight I was 'selling insurance' in New London when a Kusari Dessie showed up along with a Bretonian VHF and a Freelancer VHF. After minutes of bluffing, stalling and trying to talk out way out a K'Hara Cap appeared and that was our que to bail. Until my mouse ran out of Batteries and I got summarily blown up. :/ I'd like to play with these good folk again, assuming I will ever find them. We usually exchange contact info with people we 'cooperated' with and make inRP friends. We also need antagonists and rivals, I think this is a more cordial way of doing that. @Narcotic You've pointed to a few resources/threads that partially include what I am looking for. Just to recap, the goals in a vague hierarchy of importance are:
Can you point me in the right direction for that? |
