This is a general survey I wanted to conduct.
When a pirate comes and stops you with the intention of stealing credits what do you want to happen?

I...want to either
a) get a demand I can pay without losing too much of my income.
b) get the pirate to shoot me faster so I can restart and take a different route.

Depends; sometimes I'm in the mood for some lengthy RP or a nice fight, other times I'm in a hurry and just want a fair demand so I can be on my way.
Generally I just want them to not be dicks, which if I'm honest, most pirates aren't anyway.

To call in the police and kill them/escape while they're distracted.

^ Hone I dunno about others, but I rarely call the police. However, it really ruins my day when a pirate asks for like .. 25 million creds. Even for 5k ore runner that's wayyyyy over the top.
I've had my fair share of idiotic traders who'd call the police and would even tell me. Death time for them. But there are a few who like to RP. If they do, I let them go for a max of 5 million (yes, even if they're full of 5k ore)
I just like to remember that piracy is not about money making (at least not for me) but more about RPing and having fun WHILE keeping in mind that the other guy is in there to have fun as well ..

It can certainly be a dangerous tactic to call for the police if the pirate can kill you first, but sometimes it works for me, sometimes its better to pay, or many other things, it all depends. 25 mill is about the most Id ask for a 5k ore hauler.

I fully agree with this as i dont tend to mind paying via RP but when its a ridiculous sum like 25mil thats when i dont like it as previously stated by poster WAY OVER THE TOP!

I don't like piracy full stop to be honest but who as a trader does??? anyway with sufficient RP and reasonable demand it adds some nice, (all be it robbery) aspects to the game which if played right can be enjoyable.

I dont mind either way truthfully but I do enjoy when I meet people who instead of cash demand an iRp response like Demanding your Suit and Tie for a wedding they will be attending later or something like that.
