Well i'm not exactly 100% sure that its 40 days, but far as I remember, when signing up my brother who play's this game told me it was 40 days...
Just wondering because very soon, I won't be able to be as active as I want on freelancer and was wondering can there be excemptions made for particulare accounts if appealed to the admins? Or, is there no hope...?
Because, I'd probably stop playing Freelancer if there was no way around this 40 day business.. and not being able to play freelancer due to worrys of going inactive for over the 40 day period isn't going to appeal to me:(

Weeeell...if your had your account banned, then it wouldn't be auto-deleted. And no, the admins can't prevent certain accounts from being deleted.

Find someone you trust in game or out hand them your account and tell them to log on for a while each month. Presto! No account deletion.
However the 40 day thing is kinda short.

They *can* actually, but it requires taking down the server. So they don't.
Here's what you do- get a friend and have them keep your accounts warm for you. I know a few people have offered to do this kind of thing for others in the past, if you need it it isn't too hard.
You do have FLAM, right?
EDIT: I started writing this before Cuso had posted, hope that makes it make more sense.
If it gets longer than 40 days the server gets clogged up with extra accounts, then we get lag and exploding RAM, etc.

I remember people giving Dboy their accounts to watch... basically, you could find someone on the forums who is trustworthy, and ask them if they could watch your account.

In the past the limit was 60 days,,, but the player base grew bigger and became more POWER hungry. it was slowing the server and thus crippling our fun ingame.
Best thing when you go on leave is to give you account to a friend so he can log once in a while. If you have too much chars for him, just xfer all the equip on 1 char

No, hell I think it should be lowered, not up. The bigger the database we have, the more crashes and lag we'll get. If you're to lazy to keep your characters active, then it's your own fault. The rest that don't play though should go as soon as possible.
