Blorked up my friend's laptop. ATI problem. - sindroms - 09-20-2013 Yeah....so I installed WarThunder on his Asus laptop, the specs I will add later. It has a Intel HD 6470 on it, I think. I can't check it right now. Basically, it said that the graphics drivers were out of date, so I did a manual install of what seemed to be the right one, though it was labeled as BETA. During the installation the screen changed resolution to 800x400 and after that it went blank. Now every time the laptop boots, it has a black screen. I can hear that everything else works, the login sound and startup/shutdown process as well. I thought that I could run it in safe mode, thus allowing me to uninstall the driver, but apparently I can't even run the installer if in safe mode. Blorp. Help. I know diddly about ATI, I am more of an Nvidia dude here. Halp. RE: Blorked up my friend's laptop. Other option is to add additional monitor to it but the chances to work are smaller if it was not adjusted for it before. Do you have screen in safe mode or not? Due to your wording I cannot understand if you are not able to uninstall it or you are not able to enter safe mode at all because you cannot see anything. If you are able to enter safe mode you can manually delete the driver from the HDD or try to use CCleaner in safe mode if it works. Try with some Linux or Windows life CD if this does not work. You does not need to uninstall it via installer, the Laptop would run without driver just fine on low res till you put the proper one. My question is can you see the Boot Screen? I mean before entering in the windows etc. If not then you have more serious problem. RE: Blorked up my friend's laptop. ATI problem. - sindroms - 09-20-2013 Used a system restore, np. |
