Like, I understand they change and all but it's beginning to feel like Mario Party-esque milking now.

It's actually pretty impressive. FFXI was outdated and I heard FFXIV 1.0 was a travesty. But it's really done a great job turning around this version. I think soon they'll have trial accounts. When they do you should check it out, you might be impressed. I know for one I'm very hard to impress, but this reminds me of the good ol' days of my early MMO years.
