AP Line Ship Modelers Wanted - Scumbag - 11-01-2013
AP Manufacturing has decided to search for valid ship designs for the following concepts:
AP-20000 Bounty Hunter Super Heavy Fighter or Heavy Bomber
Must fit in the AP Line and have at least 2x CD/torpedo slots if fighter and at least 3xCD/slots if bomber.
AP-30000 Bounty Hunter Freighter
Must fit in the AP Line and have stats similar to the Anki or Junkers CSF. Follow the discussion here BHG freighter?
AP-100000 Bounty Hunter Transport
Must fit in the AP Line and have stats similar to the Borderworlds Transport or Firely. It will be a small transport meaning a cargo hold of maximum 3500. Must have a CD and one slot for a gunboat turret. You may find inspiration in the design of the old Orca

These are not guaranteed to make it in the mod but will have a solid chance if they are done properly. So get to work and show us the good stuff. AP Manufacturing will be grateful.

if you focus on heavy bomber, you could actually get it one day. Some old BHG line suggestions would be nice for that, like

freighter/transport: we already have a lot of civ/BW models. I recomend BW transport for APM, as BHG ID uses 100% core and can evade torpedoes pretty nice for that cargo size. I didn't check if prison liner BHG still can use with 100% core, as this one fits BHG RP perfectly. Armored transport is pretty popular too for anti-snub cover.
btw, BHG OP VHF and base on some other server. Kick asses hard, I tried it.

There had been concepts about revising at least the lacking capital line to bring them - well - in line .. but the project was abandoned
Those were concepts
- destroyer
- battlecruiser
- battleship ( ye, there was an idea about a dual f-gun to emphazise on the "charge into the fight head on" thing )
The "thing" you linked was a draft while finding a shape for the orca 87 - and the other things by me was also just a draft
Anyway - i am sure that its not hard to get someone to make a transport and freighter for the BHG. Their ships are not exactly complicated to make.
edit: The BHG capline does not need revision, i know about that. Those were just made because the BC is a bit cheesy and the mako steps out of the line of design. In terms of transports and so, it really does not make too much sense not to pick the available ships. The civilian freighter for low critical stuff, the armored transport for high security stuff and the bw transport for bulks. And the benefit is that those civilian designs attract a lot less attention if we assume that pirates dislike the BHG more than mere civilians.
edit2: A new BHG bomber? seriously? that is one of the nicest designs made by Mohr and a great ship, too. I am a bit at a loss why you'd want to get rid of it. I had it for years and i loved it.

I wouldn't consider these a priority right now but I don't see any reason why they couldn't happen in the future, although I find the need for a BHG freighter or transport to be a little well.. odd.
@ Jinx - What I see them requesting here is an additional heavy bomber to compliment their current light one, not a request for a replacement.

These are ofcourse future plans. We need some ships for APM, we are tired of using Shires and border worlds tech, it's not bounty hunter worthy. And we already atract pirates because we use the BHG|APM tag.
Also the bomber will be an additional one, some hunters use the bretonian one, they need heavy bombers or a SHF with a SNAC.

I could actually see a secondary purpose for BHG cargo ships. Something similar to Q-ships, except baiting pirates rather than submarines.

While I'm both honoured and a little touched that you asked me for my thoughts on this (via PM that is, I haven't grown quite senile enough yet that I see my name in random posts), I feel both my lack of community contribution over the last... long time, and the distinct absence of participation in Bounty Hunter lore means I can't offer any sort of useful feedback, I apologise.
I do however, wish you the best of luck in your search for a designer.

Maybe your absence in the lore is a good think, you may have ideas that are not influenced by our established role play. You may bring something fresh that none of us could have thaught about.

This good idea made me change my mind. We do need APM/BHG transport, not so dedicated to haul a lot, but to cover rest of the convoy and hunt damaged pirates. One that would be able to parry pirate transport and new Corsair transport, the notorious Armicustos. *waving to Joey*
Why BHG heavy bomber: as all houses have light OR heavy bombers only, BHG bombers diversity could make BHG bomber assists more welcome.
