Recruit ID cannot enter Connecticut - Pavel - 11-09-2013

Any logical arguments for it?

RE: Recruit ID cannot enter Connecticut - Dratai - 11-09-2013

As I recall, recruit shouldn't be doing combat anyway

(aka pvp, and isn't conn the pvp system?)

RE: Recruit ID cannot enter Connecticut - Karst - 11-09-2013

I was wondering about this as well.

There is literally no reason for that line to exist. Any sort of abuse that could be done with OP ships in conn is prevented by the rules anyway. If people want to try out silly combos for the heck of it, why shouldn't they?

I can fly a recruit ID'd Prosecutor with Sunrails and Tizonas outside of conn, but not in conn?
All of my wat.

Any logical reason that they should even be there? For that matter any logical reason conn still exists?

Because some people like to practice pvp on specific ships without flying across Sirius for seventy million years.

Edit: No wait, let me elaborate.
Because people want to test various ships and loadouts against various other ships and loadouts with a simple "hey, can you log this?"
Because people want to easily test misc stuff, ranges, ship sizes, etc., in a convenient manner.
Because people want to transfer items they would be transferring anyway in a convenient, quick manner. And not by flying around, avoiding interaction to do a non-rp process.
Because people might have a quick question or comment they want to make in a relaxed atmosphere.

Because conn is FUN, and games are supposed to be fun.

Nuther edit: Yeah, of course I should be doing my testing on disco of disco, an insufferably buggy, entirely unpopulated server.

Thats what discovery of discovery is for. they even give you a ton of credits at the start and have restarts for nearly every faction i believe.

Sometimes I like to shoot people in a 2003 arcade shooter without having to find excuses and to log a ship with an easy to pew ID. Sometimes I like to pew with my freelancer that's not on any bounty board and is also pretty much ignored by people because the ID makes me too neutral ;[.

Oh and before you say we should all jump to a different pvp orientated server - if a good bit of people care to log and go to Conn it means people actually like Conn and aren't hurting others, but having fun with likeminded people. It's not like we're fighting for player slots anymore, this isn't 2009-2010 so what are we really hurting if we do the pew here and not on a different server?

So you think conn does no harm? Think of it this way, lets say there's 10 people in conn pvping with eachother. You may think thats a good thing but its not, Thats 10 less people who are actually contributing to the server in any way, Thats 10 less encounters for anyone on the real server. And when people see others in conn their first thought is "Hey people in conn ima go there and pvp were there is more people. Conn sucks away every other part of the game and should be thrown to the garbage or made into a system that actually contributes something other than mindless pvp.

I'll just say this:

Sometimes I just like jumping into Conn and messing around.
