New Freelancer Community - kratos_aurion - 11-10-2013 Hope im not imposing, if this post is against the rules please delete it and notify me in a PM. so here it goes: Original Evolutions Trailer: Freelancers Guild is a heavily modified and re-balanced version of the original Evolutions mod. Server Name: Freelancers Guild Mod: Guild Evolutions Website: http://flguild.biz Mod Download: http://flguild.gamerscafe.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2 This server has been up in the past but the owners stopped hosting it and said anyone may use the mod so we have taken the mod and started a new community with it. Role play is optional but preferred. We are just getting started but plan to eventually offer the ability to have custom Clan Reputations, bases, planets, and systems. We hope to see some new people and at least a moderate amount of activity would be nice. I believe that you starting your own server when the likes of Discovery being the most populated despite bad points that individuals believe it has. You should re consider the stress of hosting a server as I don't believe you'll get the activity. If it was say, six years ago I'd say go for it! Otherwise, I wish you all the luck! Even if its not very successful at least old members can enjoy their favorite mod. RE: New Freelancer Community - Daron - 11-10-2013 Interesting but please provide more info about the mod/server and the mod itself like a download link. RE: New Freelancer Community - kratos_aurion - 11-10-2013 Updated Original Post RE: New Freelancer Community - Vogel - 11-11-2013 To Hell with "stress of hosting," just who is going to play it? There are already so few players left in the general Freelancer community that any attempt at competing with the sacred cow of Star Citizen is doomed to failure by default. The only hope for another Freelancer community would involve bringing in an entirely new fandom and merging it with the engine in the form of a mod. Even then, the engine is ancient and poorly optimized for modding. More power to you for trying but I highly suggest you find another hobby before you go the way of the Dodo. RE: New Freelancer Community - Enkidu - 11-11-2013 I have to agree, as sad as it is (I.E., verge of crying internally), we should do what we can here, if only for Disco's vast Rp lineage that rivals that of community's X times larger. As of present, that's a hypothetical community where the freelancer universe is concerned... until the rumoured Freelancer mod for Star Citizen comes of age. |
