I have been an Xbox LIVE member since 2005, and I'm wondering what you play/prefer.

Xbox 360/Original, Playstation/Sony?

And on another note, the PS4 was released. Thoughts? The Xbox One is also on the way.

I personally am moving on to the Master race of epic PC's.

I'd rather see the whole stream-gaming idea being worked on instead, tbh.

Tho the last console I owned and really, really enjoyed playing was the Genesis.

One thing about pc gaming i don't like is the whole thing they are now doing with activating the games ie, i bought a game in store a while back got the disk home and then had to install steam and activate the game then had to wait a couple of hours for it to download while it was chewing up my bandwidth, if i wanted to download it i wouldn't have bought the disk geniuses lol, Then had to wait again for it to install but however I do like a good pc game and there are some that are better on a pc ie Command and conquer, I had an Xbox 360 but sold it to buy parts for my pc now I have a PS3 as well as my partner has one too but we have both come to the conclusion that we will no longer be sticking with playstation as we seem to have had alot of problems with them via console and web so have already prepaid for an Xbox one and can't wait for release !!! So have voted Xbox for this but pc does come a close second for me out of the 3 and playstation has gone to the dump lol Smile

Meh consoles.

If I were to buy a new one it would be the Wii U.

PS4 and Xbone at this point are just downscaled PCs with exclusive titles to make them appealing.

For me the Xbox 360 and the PC tie for first place.
After that would be the Wii/Gamecube.
And dead last is anything PlayStation.

It depends on how you look at it. I really liked the original Xbox, when modded it was far ahead of its time - you could swap hdd and put all your games right on the drive so you never needed discs, there was a built-in ftp server and you could stream videos right from your PC or NAS through XBMC. That was 10 years ago, and some of those things are only becoming the standard today. The box was ugly and the original controller was made for giants though.

For the next gen I liked PS3 for overall build quality, lower noise level and simplicity in menues (funnily Microsoft has always sucked at making good GUI's), but I liked the 360 for being really easy to flash - you could play on Xbox Live with a hacked box and pirated games np, and lots of games are available for download prior to release. Towards the end of this cycle, there seem to be a change in the development strategy, turning from exclusive titles towards multi-platform releases, and the 360 benefitted from this, both in terms of being more akin to PC's as well as having proper anti-aliasing.

I have low hopes for the next generation, sadly. They seem more like updates to get the aged console universe on par with PC, but it doesn't look like there's any hope of the two consoles setting the bar higher than PC's at the moment, such as it was the case for a short while when PS3 and 360's entered the market. They seem mostly just like updates so console people can enjoy the same games and features PC people have been enjoying for a couple of years now, and that's not very sexy. That being said, I favor PS3 over Xbox One so far because it is cheaper and you aren't force-fed useless fluff like kinect. That can all change depending on how fast they are cracked, and what extra features the crack can bring out of them.

I play everything (Gameboy best though), but for the new consoles I'll probably only be able to afford one, so I'm waiting for new games/reviews/pricedrop before deciding

PC's are great if you have the money to spend on one that's capable of playing today's big titles.

Otherwise, consoles are better. I have more friends that can play console, too.

More specifically, I have a 360 and have had one since release. Probably switching to PS4 though.

You missed the NES. Cool people still have and use it.
