Trying to understand ID's and ships. - Delithor - 11-17-2013 For example. Is it a requirement to have the Zoner ID for a Zoner Gunboat. or, can you have a Freelancer ID. I know that systems have their own rules, so, Any help would be appreciated. RE: Trying to understand ID's and ships. - sindroms - 11-17-2013 It really depends on the situation and what you want to do with that character, because some of the repercussions can be RP ones, but some might be connected to the server rules. RE: Trying to understand ID's and ships. - Ursus - 11-17-2013 Generally speaking, any ID can use any equipment, with the following considerations * Some specific ships are required by the rules to use a specific ID. I think the only combination in this category anymore is the zoner 5K transport which must be used with zoner ID. * Factions own the technology in-rp and can issue bounties on ships that are using "stolen" tech, so you should get permission before using faction-specific tech on a ship with some other faction ID. Civilian tech is not owned by anybody so you can use that without permission. * Technerf may penalize the ship into uselessness. For example, trying to fly a house military ship with a Pirate ID is going to be mostly unrewarding, although some people do it for the lols |
