It's a very interesting game concept and technology-wise, but I'm not sure it is meant as spiritual or any other form of successor to Freelancer due to its highly procedural nature of world creation. Whereas Minecraft and myriads of its clones do the same to generate terrain world this game goes further: not only systems are generated but also ships, factions, relations between them, even some lower level game assets too are very much procedural. Certainly there is some Freelancer vibe you can feel right away with those "trade lanes", similar scale of proportions too (planets to stations, etc), as well as control scheme.

Funny... it has an 1.1 patch download but I fail at finding the original game on that site.
Help please? My neurons decided to betray me

Hmm, very very good! As far SC not gona have 3rd person view, probably, gona be complicated and expensive, this game can be next step after freelancer.
Gona put an eye on it. Thanks for making this topic!
