Should we delete SRPs? - sindroms - 12-26-2013 (12-26-2013, 07:06 PM)Garrett_Jax Wrote: * Garrett_Jax is waiting for the "Do you want SRP's to be deleted" thread to start. Jokes aside, remember when we needed to do extensive stuff ingame and appeal to EVERYONE, even the independent players of a faction for them to know that you have special permission? That getting cool stuff wasn't as easy as writing a few paragraphs of sub-par fanfics and paying 250mils? No, if you wanted corsair turrets on your transport, you'd get them, but in return, instead of nerfs and whatnot, you would get your asshole punched in by every outcast or outcast ally everywhere you went as a part of genuine realtime roleplay consequences. And that if you really wanted to fly some odd ship-gun combo, you would have to explain this choice to your fellow faction players, so they do not shun you like the bigot you are? Remove SRP, remove tech charts and if someone is mad that someone else blew them up with an OP combo they got from their faction skype buddies, just make an exact copy of that ship and punch their face in 8| Take this all with a pinch of salt. RE: Should we delete SRPs? - Lythrilux - 12-26-2013 Is boxing day Discovery jihad day or what. In all seriousness, I just want a new tech system. Preferably the old one. RE: Should we delete SRPs? - Curios - 12-27-2013 4.85 system, period RE: Should we delete SRPs? - Flashâ„¢ - 12-27-2013 (12-26-2013, 08:16 PM)Lythrilux Wrote: Is boxing day Discovery jihad day or what. +1 RE: Should we delete SRPs? - SMGSterlin - 12-27-2013 Honestly, I think the best system Disco had as far as tech usage goes, was either the .85 tech chart, which encouraged more roleplay, or RP consequences, or the system before that, where it was "use what you want, but prepare to get shot". In relation to SRP's... I really don't see the point of them, except for requesting certain massively overpowered ID's, like the Terrorist ID. If someone wants to RP a certain way*, they should be allowed to, but be prepared for the entirety of Sirius raining hell down upon you. *As long as it's within the rules, and not to a point where it destroys the potential for fun for the other party of the interaction. RE: Should we delete SRPs? - JayDee Kasane - 12-27-2013 Stop breaking other people's toys. Dont like SRP - dont request it. Someone worked hard to get his RM LibDread or LN Osiris. Stop ruin their RP just because you dont like it or any other problem you have with it. RE: Should we delete SRPs? - Karst - 12-27-2013 Just remove the technerfs. More combinations available = better. Or at least remove that stupid "feature" of ship-based nerfs. It's like...."Hey guys! We introduced an entirely new way to make your ships unusable. They can now be unusable based upon what guns you mount, entirely independent of ID! Check out how awesomely unusable this new feature makes your ships! Your Sabre with Carbines now has just 10% powercore, thanks to this incredible new feature! ISN'T THAT AWESOME?" RE: Should we delete SRPs? - Zen_Mechanics - 12-27-2013 4.85 system and man hunt. RE: Should we delete SRPs? - SnakThree - 12-27-2013 4.85 tech chart with SRP would be best option. It would promote roleplay, thus activity with relevant characters, instead of using trade ship to gather 250M ( or use money from bank account which is filled with cash that was earned months ago ). Remember how mercenaries had to destroy X ships of hostiles to get those cool faction guns/ship? Now all you need to do is either /restart Y or fly to their base and get the stuff. If you re-read the post I made, you would see that removing SRPs would not have any actual impact on existing ''toys'' as you put it. Just that getting and using one would be more than simply getting a spec-ops ID and saying ''because this thing states I can''. |
