Restrict capital ship usage | Roleplay required - Wraga - 12-30-2013

I know, I know, it have been discussed before, but I'm still interested in it.

What about restricting capital ship usage by forum roleplay?

In short:

If somebody wanna get a capital ship, he/she need to write a rp background/story first on the forum than requesting an approval from admins/official faction leaders to let him to buy one.

It can help the community to raise the roleplay on the server and avoid from lolcaps swarm.
I know, its hard since there arent enough players already on the server and some may leave if they cant shoot on everything what is red for them,

BUT

If this is a roleplay server, we need to focus on roleplay first and players who are here to roleplay and share his enjoyment with others. If somebody is here to shoot on everything in capships, than he could find a lot of other servers, where he/she can do that without problems.

BUT

If members forced to find and explore and use the forum a bit, that could help to build a massive roleplaying community what is based something what could be fine for everybody.

SO

Sooner or later but it will improve the gameplay here, so I would like to discuss this idea again and I'm interested in others opinions.

Any lolwut in a cap can be sanctioned. Any retard in a cap can be dealt with bombers. It is fine as it is.

And what would happend with all the peeps that have already a cap ship ? do they get it refunded in any way?

I don't think restricting caps in any way will happen, no way after all these years.

Voted yes because it was 5 to 0.

It seems fine, just many dont RP their cap in any way and fly in battle with 2 lines they learned over trading " Red on scope " and " Fire at will ".

It's unfair to restrict it.

Different people like different pvp.

Few people like snub combat (imo it sucks hard) and like the slower cap combat, where hits actually mean something, where you see progress (compared to the "draining snub fights") and where you get an explosion as a result.

in my opinion, this whole topic makes no sense.

Roleplay is required for all Players. It doesen't matter if they fly a capital ship or not.

Just report these cases. For this Server Rules exist.
Also, the Admins/Moderators still seem to be active.

There are Players(myself includet), who prefer online time before writing stuff in the forum.
In my case, I just registered when I had a problem with the new modinstaller.
Was allready playing on the server for years before I registered at the forum (with intermission playing other mods).
But was reading the rules and faction laws to be able to comply with roleplay matters.

You have to register anyways, if you want to join a faction.

In the end, it should stay the way it is now.
Player, using capital ships already stayed al longer period of time at the server to gain the credits for the ship.
So they should have already an idea about the rolplay behavior on this server.

I hope you got my point.

NOTE:
I understand your anger. For example:
"People in Capitals shooting at your without announcement, while youre typing an encounter message."<--had this quite often, and did not report them(thinking about it now...should have and will do in future)

Server wipe!

Less CAU8 caps for a while.

A lot more traders to pirate, more pirates will actually bother pirating instead of pewing lawfuls.


There is too much accumulated wealth, get rid of it, and it will give Disco a new lease of life.

So what if a few bratty veterans leave, it will be better for new players.

I have a truck load of ships myself, a Dread, a few cruisers, loads of GBs, bombers, fighters, transports, miners. If I had to start again, it wouldn't really bother me, you can earn the credits for a fighter/bomber in a few hours if you know what you're doing, and that's all you really need to RP and have fun.
