Good day.
Of late, I have noticed faction leaders/members advertising their faction all over the welcome section. It also results in unnecessary flame/rage/qq because some players defame other factions and say their's is better. one example I have noticed is:

I appreciate the members wanting to give new members an oppurtunity, but I feel it limits the choices of the player, because he is unable to decide, and factions are pretty much 'forced' on him.
What's your opinion? if the admins and mods feel my suggestion is genuine, they can implement it.
Stop advertising your factions in the welcome section.

Yes, yes they should.
Most official factions take good care of new peeps.
That is one of their responsibilities as official factions.

Its true they should.
But.
Forcing factions down one's throat can get annoying and overwhelming too.
I suggest balance and letting the guy poke around and explore the game a bit too.

Well, it is always the person's choice whether to or not to follow such advice.
EDIT: It is also up to them to recognize sarcasm.

yes it is, but as I said, it is sanctionlancer these days, and just a small snide remark may spoil the whole gameplay for people

You do have a point. Directing a new guy to stuff to look at is always good.
Looking needy and forcing your faction on them, saying its better and blah blah is just silly.

Don't take this the wrong way, but if said person is sensitive enough to have his gameplay ruined by a snide remark, it is best for them not to play Disco.

Well, I say, let the guy look around. for example:
A person joins BAF, following an advertisement in the welcome section. then he realises he has to pew a lot, which he doesnt want to. all he wants is to make a good buck and have fun. then he is gonna end up leaving the faction anyways
