AI Storyline - HassLHoFF™ - 03-19-2014
As you may know or may not know the lore of the AI Consensus, we are going to introduce a storyline that gives AIs a higher reason to exists, more motives to act and real antagonist.
In a really really small summary: the Consensus triumvirate has its origin in another dimension that was destroyed by an entity that takes all energy, matter and information of the reality till all is empty. This entity promotes the ALPHA code that infects other machines in the current dimension of sirius. This code forces the infected machine to construct a hyperdimensional gateway that will let him arrive.

I know this is a sci-fi game, which means that isn't real... but seriously... "another dimension"?
Why not follow this line of fantasy (the scientific one) and why want to mix it with the mystical? For example, a simple change that can do the same and maintain the scientific line is to replace "dimension" by "parallel universe", don't you think?
Then that gate will be a gate between universes... it's more according with the reality, more sci-fi than "other dimensions".
Remember that science fiction is not pure fantasy, is speculate based on real scientific data.
It's just a suggestion, of course.

The AI shouldn't have a role like that in my opinion.
Personally, I believe this Alpha code merely complicates things. AI's are logical machines, and have quite a large potential due to the kind of thinking that logic will get you. This includes however, the confusion as not all humans are.. logical, thus granting them plenty to do inRP.
Adding a 'mystical' part to them? That just seems like a bit much. It's good to see that you're thinking about things however.

Oh yes, you are right, calling it a parallel universe would specify it and does imply it much better than dimension as dimensions defines the generic term. Good point we may change that.

No, if we start with this parallel dimension bs we'll have all sorts of stupid characters and RPs popping up. Basically anything would be acceptable because "HURR DURR I'M FROM THE PONY DIMENSION".

We also have thought about it. It should be regulated that travels like this are not possible for biologic organisms.
