Community input needed. Tutorial Videos. - sindroms - 03-28-2014
Hey. As you might know, I enjoy making tutorial videos and guides and some of them have turned out to be highly successful. The youtube channel in my siggy currently has over 300 subscribers already, mostly new players, and I think it is time to involve the community a bit more.
I have set up a suggestion box, much thanks to the dev team, who gave me the idea in the first place. There, you can submit suggestions and feedback as well as new topics, which you would like to see being addressed in later videos.
My current active projects are generalized tutorials, the QnA, where I answer the more common questions asked by new players in the comments or inbox, and the Let's Play series, along with the 15min of Disco monologue.
Though I think it is time to focus on the tutorials a bit more, as soon as I get more free time.

I believe that tutorials should be from the bottom for new players:
Game mechanics and UI.
Roleplay and rules.
Obtaining first millions for trade ship and properly equipping it.
NPC factions, Player factions, official factions.

I am addressing mechanics in the tutorial I am working on now.
Back to Basics, so to speak.
Been flying with nublets lately and have been surprised by the amount of people, who do not know basic game mechanics. Most of these people have never played Freelancer before and come from the StarCitizen forums.
EDIT: The problem about the rule-related videos is that they get outdated VERY fast. The same problem concerns videos explaining ship types. 87 is not at its final yet and some more changes can be made, which would require the whole video to be re-done.

The basics that will not change in due time. RP before attacking, ID rules, language, OOC and such.
