warp engines - johnson86 - 06-12-2006 hey just a thought but i thought of if when i was taking nap. wat if the larger ships can have warp engines that can allow them to travel through one or two systems without having to travel through them just to get to the next one. Or maybe allowing the ship to open up a temporary wormhole and once traveled through the hole would close. but in order to do this u would need a generator such as shields that would have to recharge after a period of time. warp engines - Flash - 06-12-2006 That's not a bad sound But I think, that escorts or traders would like to have it, too then Can this "warp" be integrated to the mod ? If yes, maybe we should give it only to ONE battleship - like he orion (for example) to keep it something special but I think, it won't be added to the mod.... Flash warp engines - Wolfpack98 - 06-12-2006 Never heard of this happening, and it'd likely spoil the game a bit too much. Granted a lot of us find trading boring, but this'll make it even worse (Why would I want to do a VIP run from Cambridge to Kurlie when I can do it in two hops, instead of the usual four ?) Sorry guys.. I think this is wishful thinking. A lot of us might agree. If anything, I'd love to see this for the ADMIN accounts tho :P warp engines - Gwynzer - 06-12-2006 Unless you are a serious coder this would never be able to happen. I don't agree to that anyway, It makes it less fun. And Wolf? Isn't IONCROSS movment good enough for you? :P warp engines - marauder - 06-12-2006 Yeah, it'd probably never happen, though having BSs being able to cruise alittle faster would be nice but I'm not gonna ask. I can't see any good arguements from traders as to why they'd need warp engines. Now I can see why a BS would have them... warp engines - SilverDragon - 06-12-2006 If you wanted that to happen, you might as well go play X3:Reunion ^_^ Jumpengines, requierd energy cells, the bigger the ship, the more cells to move it, and the longer the distance, the more cells also, cells would require cargo space, so an Ltrain makeing the delta run jump would require half its cargo hold to be energy cells, and thats only for a one way jump.... makes it not worth it. I only ever used that in X3 to jump multiple battleships into all four jumpgates to block a sector for... "cleansing" :P I say keep things how they are. warp engines - Vtec - 06-12-2006 I like the Idea if there where special JG or JH for BS only for avoiding the Trade lanes or Asteroid field's, But not to escape faster to other systems or doing short and fast Trading to make big Bucks. warp engines - Chiana - 06-13-2006 oh no, mate that warp - thing.... you don't mean it serious, do you ? why not install a "beam-port" on every planet/station... you enter destination and - paff, you're there... :shok: forgive me, mate - but that's going a bit far... Even the idea of one ship having it, FLASH..... it's nonsense.... Everybody would buy the same ship - and disco is one of the rare servers, where the people use (nearly) every ship, available... BUT (!!!!!) Thank you for thinking on making the game better - don't stop it - go on... I hope, most of you agree with me, and I don't wake up, tomorrow as a citizen of monkey planet...  warp engines - Xerxas Jade - 06-13-2006 i belive this was disscussed once before, in relation to getting it on osirises and it never got off the ground then and I hope it dosent now..... Great that you want to improve discovery but this is not the way. Tho you have given me a Idear..... warp engines - Hyperwave22 - 06-24-2006 DEFINITELY NOT. All i have to say besides that i kind of agree w/ maurader |
