Corvo specific details (crew # etc.) - Inuk - 07-31-2014 Hello all! I've recently come up with an rp idea for which I would be using the zoner corvo deep space explorer. I've been draft-writing the rp and this ship would be an explorer/research type ship that would go about finding all planets of a specific type across Sirius while recording all their data and writing some rp about them. I do have more specifics on this but don't want to give it all away. ![]() My question was in regards to the ship however. Is there a "standard" or known crew number for this ship or for a ship of similar size? Or am I free to say the ship holds, say, 200 people? I want this to make as much sense as possible of course, and then say x-amount of people run the ship, y-amount of people are researchers, etc. The wiki for the corvo: http://discoverygc.com/wiki/%22Corvo%22_Zoner_Deep_Space_Explorer doesn't provide said information but perhaps there is a correlation between the size of the cargo hold to the amount of crew ships can have I'm not aware of? Any help in this regards would be more than appreciated, thank you! RE: Corvo specific details (crew # etc.) - Occam Razor - 07-31-2014 Just make something reasonable up, there are no hardcoded numbers. It's all for you to decide... go do some nice RP out there, however you do it! There are probably multiple variants of the Corvo anyways, every ship could be unique in some way. Just decide on something yourself. All I found was a huge discussion on whether or not the Corvo is too big and should be turned into some gunboat/cruiser type thing and who knows what. Since I was modelling my corvo after modern ice-breakers I was going to follow some of the stats from these beauties (chose these two as examples): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CCGS_John_G._Diefenbaker http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CCGS_Pierre_Radisson The range varies but in general they are between 38 and 140 or so. I'll probably go with both your posts and settle with 40-something just to make it interesting. Maybe 43 ![]() Again, thanks! |
