Help with Shields - sorceress - 08-02-2014
I play 4.87 in single player mode. I want to use the Administrator shields on any ships I buy, I am using the LSF Avenger now. Is there an INI setting to make the shields available on any ship? Or how to I install it on a ship? TIA

Use the Singleplayer commands to get to Temple of Damned and you can find the administrator shields there. But I guess it is only for snubs (?).
Or just type in "base mn" (without the quotes).

You lost me. Single Player commands? I have an Admin shield on my ship that I had when I was using a light fighter. But when I switched to the Advenger, I can't
equip it. I want to set my game so that any ship I buy, I can equip it. Or what I need to do to add it to my ship. There are several ships that I like, none are LFs.

Here's a list of single player commands.
In order to get the Admin shield, you need to go to the Temple of the Damned.
Type "base Damned" (no quotes) in the console to beam yourself to that base. Then buy the shield and beam yourself to a base of choice. This way you can get to any base and buy whatever you want.

Oh okie, if you don't use Single player commands, you wont be possibly able to buy an admin shield, since I suppose that it is only sold in Temple of the Damned, which is rephacked hostile to everyone. (It was dockable in some previous versions, but not now)
The only way to get it is to use the base command and then go to the admin base. There you have the Admin shield for VHFs, LFs, HFs as well as Freighters. It might be that the class of the shield varies for LFs and VHFs, so you can't mount the LF ones on your Guardian.
Press enter and type in "base mn" while on the ship you want to have that shield, and it will teleport you to the admin station. You can buy that shield from there.

Ok I am following this now. Once I buy the shields, how to I get back to another base?

Just type "base <insert basename>"
It takes you to which base you want to go.
