Conn as a roleplay concept - Corile - 08-28-2014

I had this idea recently, basically as putting conn into roleplay as a fight simulator. Someplace that you could go, maybe settle disputes in with people of your own faction iRP and so on and so forth. Once you think about it, it makes sense.

Yay or nay?

Using your example of settling disputes, it's probably already fine to RP it as a simulated fight if both parties agree to it beforehand and it's isolated to that - no additional RP world impact.

Keep Connecticut OORP as a whole and let individuals decide that. It's not necessary to impose a server-wide mandate.

@Snak3
In situations where normally you would fight someone but your id/server rules won't allow you.

In situation where there's 8 people around you and there would come more (hello, liberty player here) that would probably start unnecessary massfight with a few sanctions flying around.

Yes, I was referring to arranging a fight in Connecticut as a flight simulation. I'm saying your concept is probably fine if you can find other people willing to play along, no official green light necessary.

Isn't that the way in Conn already? Why make it less simple than it is now?

Nope.

I'll give you an example. I had an encounter with someone from a 'technically' allied faction. He was an insulting ass about it basically, but if I fired at him it would probably end up in a sanction, so only thing there was left to do is a word fight.

In a situation where there would be a fight simulator we'd probably fight it out there and if he didn't accept I could just call him a coward and have everyone around as witnesses. Without the 2h block from the server and what have you.

What I mean is just to raise awareness that such option exist and don't get flamed by everyone around when I'd refer to conn in a roleplay situation.

no, leave it as it is, some we like to get rid of the RP factor and conn os for that purpose

What?
I said to add conn to roleplay, not the other way around.
