which GMG whale...? your choice - Jinx - 09-16-2014 So, sooner or later, we will have to do the final update and get rid of the placeholders, too eventually. Here are the current candidates you can vote on - they are very different from one another. - but before you vote, you should be aware of the history of the ship. - Well, not exactly the history of the ship itself but what it stands for. The GMG Whale "Kujira" is a venerable GMG design that is meant to be fairly old and unique. It is meant to be very compact, very "easy" to manouver around - while still offering a huge cargo capacity. It is so good that back in the days, the Zoners copied it. But if we compare it to the Zoner Whale, the GMG whale is meant to be a little bit smaller in capacity - while being even easier to fly. so - here are the options: ( 2 of them were already shown, but now it is time to vote ) ![]() ![]() It is shorter than the Zoner Whale, a little taller and feels more compact. ![]() However it follows the design lines of the smaller ships - being long, pointy and slim - with a similar tank setup as the freighter. This ship is a good deal longer than the current whale, but of course needle thin compared to that - and so it is very easy to fly ( a bit like a large version of the camara freighter ) design-wise - i like the 3rd option the most - but that one would progress the GMG shipline to the next level - and i am not sure if ppl like that, - it often seems ppl like their old stuff more than new. so thats what you guys vote on - the winner is being uploaded. - simple majority poll. There is also the option to leave the placeholder - but there is no option to go back to the star wars model!. - there is no option for other modellers designs, because we do not have any. RE: which GMG whale...? your choice - SnakThree - 09-16-2014 3rd.. RE: which GMG whale...? your choice - Shinju - 09-16-2014 3rd or 1st RE: which GMG whale...? your choice - Wildkins - 09-16-2014 The third. RE: which GMG whale...? your choice - Gypsie Skripto - 09-16-2014 The placeholder reminds me of the old Zoner whale. Seeing how lore-wise GMG got the design from Zoners, I think the placeholder should stay. It's as cool as the actual current Zwhale imho. RE: which GMG whale...? your choice - WesternPeregrine - 09-16-2014 Is it still influenced by Kishiro in the construction? Did that lore of Kishiro building for GMG applied only for the gas mining platforms, or also to the gas transporters/ mobile miners? 1st seems a little too thin, like smartphone thin. 3rd one looks neat, somewhat similar to the garanchou in profile. I'd pick 3rd one. RE: which GMG whale...? your choice - SMI-Great.Fox - 09-16-2014 Voted for number 3. Due to the fact that like some placeholders, their represented factions have evolved in time, so must the GMG. Therefore going along with the GMG smaller craft, the third model would fit just beautifully. RE: which GMG whale...? your choice - Arioch - 09-16-2014 3rd looks great, especially considering the GMG line already. RE: which GMG whale...? your choice - hades durin - 09-16-2014 3rd one looks like an rheinlander ship and if you make it more awkward it looks like an uruz 2nd one looks best RE: which GMG whale...? your choice - Fluffyball - 09-16-2014 Mk2. Why? It does fit the style used by GMG line. O.o It is slim, way slimer than Rheinland style of ship, which is more about power. |
